Please tell me its a normal thing! At the moment all she wants to do is roll over onto her front and dry hump the floor 😅 she is rubbing her eyes and very tired so I'm trying to nurse her to sleep on her back just now and everytime she almost drifts off she rolls over and starts thrusting. Its been about an hour it's driving me insane 🤣

Maybe she's practising lifting her hips for crawling?!
@Prue that's what I'm hoping!

Once they learn a skill (or a part thereof), it is like they can't help but do it. Our bub was so tired but rolling in his sleep and waking himself up, he just learnt how to do it properly and just couldn't help but do it.

It's normal when they're starting to learn the initial skills for crawling 💛
You got this! I promise it won't last forever ☺️

I love reading these posts because they're literal thoughts from my mind 🤭 so happy to know my 7 mo has many other friends in the same spot!

My 7 month old lifts herself up on her hands and feet so her knees are off the floor, and then just holds herself there screaming 😂

Our almost 7 month old is OBSESSED with standing and walking. She hates trying to crawl and just lays on her back slamming her feet down and crying until we help her up and walk her holding her hands and she’s soooo happy. It’s all she wants to do and is miserable unless she’s doing it! She also does this weird thrust thing when feeding or in her high chair lol. It’s good to see so many people have similar experiences with their babies and their weird behaviors lol.

Hands and knees and twerks/thrusts.

She’s working out and preparing to crawl. Very normal

Getting ready to crawl!
When you do her massage, help her with her hip lifts. Put her on her back, hand under her bum, and lift and hold briefly. She'll help and you can make it a game (lifting in time to a song).
Also..
Move her legs like she's riding a bike.
Raise her arms above her head one at a time. She'll resist, and that strengthen her arms. Also do both at once like she's just won something (yay) to strengthen her shoulders and back
Encourage her to kick your hand, one foot at a time. Teaching her to move one side than the other, a skill for crawling and walking.
Lift her legs towards the ceiling or toward her face until her bum off the floor. This stretches and strengthens, and is practice bending at the hips for crawling.
Play Stand Up Sit Down .. you lay on your back and she sits on your belly. "stand up" and lift her to stand on your belly. "Sit down" and sit her down again. Do it half a dozen times and then do something funny (raspberry, make her fly, etc). Repeat until she is tired 💕
