Hello☺️
I was wondering if anyone could let me know the best laundry detergent/fabric conditioner to use when washing a newborns clothes?

Hi, you can just use a non bio detergent suitable for sensitive skin. Avoid using fabric conditioners as it reduces the effectiveness of the non flammable element in baby clothes.
I’m going to be using only Surcare non bio capsules. My first baby had eczema so I’m going to do everything I can to reduce it from happening again to my second.

hi that’s super helpful thank you!

I’ve been using fairy, you can use any non bio stuff but I just love the smell of fairy 🤣

I've been using detergent for sensitive skin and also not using a full dose, keeping it light. Everything has come out nicely.

I use the tide free and gentle for the whole family. I've been doing that since we ran out of the dreft that was gifted to us

You can try All detergent has nothing in it

Dreft is actually really bad, I wouldn’t suggest using it. Use something like tide or all free and clear. You also should wash babies clothes in the same detergent you and dad use since baby comes into contact with your clothing daily.

I use all of these for my baby’s clothes and it comes out smelling amazing 😍

I used dreft but small amounts and extra rinse

I like dreft although it does have a scent. Another goodie for me was honest fragrance free and it doesn’t have a scent at all and the clothes get clean too.

Fairy non bio x

I’m just using Aldi non bio same as I do for my own clothes! Xx

what's wrong with dreft

@Jess what's it smell like

Dreft isn’t neutral PH like some free and clear detergents are meaning it’s going to be a skin irritant. It contains fluorescent brightness which can mess with the stiffness of the fabric. It states it has no perfumes however it is very obviously scented. Dreft contains an alarming amount of 1,4-dioxane which is a respiratory irritant (it contains more than what if found in most laundry detergents, hand soaps and body washes). It scores F with EWG. It advertises as being “gentle” however majority of the ingredients are not gentle and are either skin or respiratory or endocrine irritants/disruptors.

Molly Suds and Truly Free!!

I’m the same as Kayleigh I’m using all fairy non bio pods, scent boosters and conditioner xx

I use fairy soap powder with fairy softener xx

Dreft

I'm just using non bio washing pods (no fabric softener but I believe there are non bio options).
I got a pack of persil non bio pods because they were on offer with my regular shopping, so I've been washing all mine and my partners clothes with those for months as well (which I thought would be best really anyway since we will be holding the baby).
I also got a fairy non bio tester pod from a baby pack so I would presume they are best to use.

Think I’m going for fairy non bio again x
