My 8.5 month old has been army crawling since 7 months old with no sign of it progressing to normal crawling. I wasn’t worried until i decided to search on youtube how to help him learn to crawl properly and saw some videos that said army crawling is atypical and means something is wrong with baby whether its balance/coordination or something like that? My niece is 2 weeks younger and also army crawls and i thought most babies did that first. Just wondered if others are army crawling or if it is something i should speak to the health visitor about?

A lot of babies army crawl first. They need to build their arm strength. Army crawling is impressive so be proud. My boy can only do circles ATM 😂 it's so funny to watch but he's so frustrated with it lol

My boy started dragging himself a week ago but army crawling 2 days ago and today he’s started rocking on all fours.
I think a lot of baby’s army crawl first but how long they do it for seems to vary I’ve ready people say weeks, months and some babies never properly crawl.
Just bare with him
Thanks both! We are super proud of him, he’s speeding round and climbing up stairs so he’s doing great! This particular youtube channel just made me question things but thanks for reconfirming its normal! ❤️
