Maternity Parking Tameside Hospital

Hi! Does anyone know if there is any special parking arrangements for antenatal appointments in the Antenatal Clinic at Tameside Hospital? Starting to really struggle walking from car parks miles away on the other side of the building as it’s so hard to find a parking space! 🙈

Sadly not , it's a nightmare. I spent an hour once finding a car parking space. 🙃 not great when you are heavily pregnant.

Not as far as I know. It's awful isn't it!
They may be able to fit you in for antenatal appointments at a local GP, they have a few satellite centres for midwives, worth an ask

Unfortunately not 😩 just that open car park across the way from the building. Might be worth asking at reception/security next time you're there though?

Apparently they do something where you pay £15 for so many, but I’m not sure if that includes parking nearby x

@Lisa that's just any on site hospital car park 😩 good value though, I've had a lot of appointments moved there so it's been worth paying for us

thank you. I wasn’t to sure x

You can get a pass from security which I think covers 10 visits. Not sure on the price xx

Iv found the closest yesterday was behind Charlesworth building and walking around....least its flat. From the other....the multistory it's a climb up the hill I can't cope with plus no lift. Have tried to get through the barriers at antenatal and they say it's for premium / staff only basically. They let me in once coz I said there was a Car right behind me and I couldn't get out otherwise. Xx

@Kay what do they class as premium? 😅 is that if you're literally in labour?

Tameside hospital's parking is an absolute joke.
The amount of stress it caused me during pregnancy thinking I was going to be late for my appointments and the stress of trying to get out of the car if you did actually manage to get a space!

The amount of times I just parked on the curb was ridiculous as there was nowhere else to park. They sometimes put a note on to say you shouldn't park there but honestly I would have dared anyone to take me on as a heavily pregnant woman 🤣

Small head reported following 20 week scan

Has anyone else had it flagged that their baby is in the bottom 5th percentile for head size?

They said everything was fine whilst we were in the scan and then I got a phone call the next day saying that it’s on the small side and we’re being referred to a paediatric specialist at St George’s. Has anyone else had this and how did things go??

Would you bring 9 week old to a family party of 35+ people?

These are also people who will want to pass the baby around and get a turn to hold him. He just got his 2 month shots two days ago

Exercise 6 weeks after c section

What movement did people start to introduce? I won’t do anything too vigorous until I’ve seen the pelvic physio as I don’t want to compromise anything that may have been extremely weakened through pregnancy! But just wondering what types of classes/movement people started off with?

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲
