Hi all, does anyone have any advice on colic/trapped wind. My 4 week old is so uncomfortable when feeding and will scream for an hour afterwards sometimes. We’ve changed his milk now to kendamil but does anyone have any other advice on how to help him?

I feel like gripe water was an absolute godsend but some people are against giving it 🥲

My daughter is ebf and I had the same problem when I had mastitis early on and didn’t know that she was basically sucking in air because of the clog. Literally gripewater in the colostrum collector syringe and burping between each syringe as the dose is 5ml so gave her 1ml at a time and once she got rid of it all she was a different baby

we’ve been using gripe water. Why are people against it? X

Go dairy free. We had that and once I removed dairy, my girl calmed down within a week.

From what I've read previously, it's because it used to contain alcohol and was very high in sugar! No wonder it says alcohol free and no sugar on the packets now haha x

I would also try infacol in his milk & stomach massages to help baby pass any trapped gas. That’s what i did with my LO. I personally didn’t think that gripe water did anything at all

I think there is an age restriction on gripe water. Infacol is pretty good as long as you don't overuse it. It can cause constipation - I have dealt with this first hand and it is soul destroying watching your baby cry in sheer agony trying to pass a stool that is stuck 😭

We've been struggling with the same issue with our 3 week old. We've literally just made the switch from tommee tippee to mam so fingers crossed that helps! Infacol didn't seem to make a difference for ours though sadly. Our neighbours have just started gripe water and said it's fab though!
