Go with your gut. If you think it’s too soon that’s ok.

If he has not been involved in your son's life every day, for hours, handling him without assistance, he is not ready for overnights. Is he aware of the safe sleep guidelines? Does he know CPR? Does he know what to do for fever, diaper rash, gas, constipation? Can he install a carseat? Does he know how to handle a baby that just can't be soothed? Are there roommates involved? Will he call you if he finds he's struggling more than he thought he would? It's not just "he's mine so I should get to have him too." It's being capable.
I highly recommend you guys do trial sleepovers. One of you crashes on the couch at the other person's home so you're both there. If getting a hotel with joined rooms is an option, do that because then you're on neutral ground.

No you’re not wrong! 2 weeks is too young, especially if he isnt involved!!! Go with your gut!!!

No dads don’t have a mothers intuition I’d wait until baby is 6 months old that’s when a baby can sleep safely in their crib
