Did anyone else travelled with Qatar airways ? My daughter (almost 3) is on the autism pathway and we asked if we could bring our stroller of if we could gate check it.
They said that we could only bring a stroller on board (overhead cabin) if the child was a infant less than 2 years old and that they don’t do gate check we can only get our stroller at our final destination.
I’m worried because my daughter does elope and I know it’s going to be a hard time as she also gets tired really quick. I explained the situation but they said it’s not allowed and that we can get a stroller on Doha for our layover but also a concern what if there aren’t left.
Also a few days ago I saw on TikTok a family travelling with a yo-yo stroller in Qatar Airways but I assume that their infant is less then 2 year old.
Does anyone has any experience?

I literally just did a return flight with them to Bangkok, so hopefully I can help as we got back last week! You absolutely can take a Yo-Yo pram with you, which is regardless of age. My daughter is 2.5 and we have a yo yo, which we took on all the flights (had a lay over in Doha) which just went in the overhead lockers. I can’t believe they didn’t tell you that a Yo yo was allowed, but I also called the customer service line once and they were useless. Anyway, get yourself a yo yo and you will be fine! We really enjoyed all our flights and thought they were a really good airline so hopefully you’ll have a good experience. Another thing I’d say, is don’t bother with checking in early.. it’s such a scam. You can check in months in advance but they make you pay for seats, which we nearly did so we could guarantee sitting together - in the end we didn’t as it would have cost us hundreds of pounds which was ridiculous. We figured there was no way that they’d allow us to be separated..

And sure enough, when we did check in at the normal time (like a day or 2 before) we were automatically given a row of 3 and didn’t have to pay a penny. I think they must safeguard space for families, they just don’t tell you that!
omg you are an angel! Such a relieve! We have a yoyo and I was so scared and confused after talking to them as they give me a dimension of baggage for a stroller and i thought I’m never going to find a stroller in that size because they told me if I have stroller in that dimension i could take it with me but those dimensions 😦 I was also worried about the seating as I saw that I have to pay 106 for 1 flight if we wanted to sit together 🫨 i was like how?! My husband said I was overreacting but it’s my first flight and I’m thinking of so much things because travelling with a child can be a fun experience but also you have to prepare for so many things! such a relieve I will take my yo-yo with me then will help so much! Can’t thank you enough!

Happy to help! Yeah the stress of planning is real, but it’s usually always not so bad in reality! We were amazed at how well our daughter did on such a long journey. And yeah 100% don’t spend hundreds on securing seats, they’re total bastards for that! They won’t allow a family to be sat apart from each other. As for that pram, I couldn’t say of course, but it looks exactly like a yoyo so I’m sure it’ll be problem! They don’t look at it to confirm the brand, so they won’t even notice I’ll bet. Have a good journey!
thank you so much really it’s a big relief! You helped more than the actual customer service they let me feel like I was sick to ask such questions! Appreciate it!

We use Qatar a lot for long haul back to Australia.
You can take an onboard like a yoyo onboard no matter the age. It’s an onboard pram, goes right in the overhead. Never had a question once. We use ours at Doha airport for the transfer.
thank you so much! appreciate it! 😊
yes they told me about this but they also said there are limited strollers so if you are lucky you will get one otherwise you have to do it without one.
