Dancing fruit - Hey bear sensory

Heya Mummas! Anyone else struggling to get their LO to watch anything else?
She loves the dancing fruit, moon and everything else on Hey Bear sensory. She like Bing but doesn’t stay interested for long. Jojo and gran gran she’ll watch a little, I’ve tried all the old skool kids programmes too. All the sensory ones for babies on YouTube for learning etc… Gracie’s Corner she’ll watch a little but she only like the good morning song. I’ve tried everything from Netflix to YouTube and so many other shows. But Dancing fruit is the only thing that has her proper HOOKED! To a point she just sits there and zones out watching it babbling away. Have you guys got any other suggestions you’ve tried ? Xo

Have you tried Miss Rachel? It’s second best to dancing fruits for my little boy but he still loves it.

We also watch the Wiggles nursery rhymes and Bookbugs recordings together and I sing along and do the actions with him.

I know you’ve said you’ve tried the old school programmes, have you tried teletubbies? My friend put it on for her little boy when she was at my house and my little girl loved it

Screens are not recommended before age 2. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises eliminating screen time for children younger than 2 years completely, linking it to language learning delays. Good evidence suggests that screen viewing before age 2 has lasting negative effects on children’s language development, reading skills, short term memory, and increases their chances of becoming overweight or obese as they get older. It also contributes to problems with sleep and attention.

Our LG loves Bollywood🤣 the colours and songs and dancing she’s obsessed. I try have her watch little Einstein’s on Disney as it’s all musical and very educational but she does only last one episode at a time as it can overwhelm her a bit x

I could genuinely care less. I sing a long and play with my child. Putting on a programme once a day isn’t a bad thing. How about we normalise letting mothers raise their children the way they want to. Not the way others have ‘recommendEd’ or what a book says, or a mother who doesn’t know you says. Have a nice day ✌🏾

Autism

I have been noticing everyone I know that as a boy 2-5 years has been diagnosed with autism. Has anyone else noticed this or maybe I’m just noticing this out of concern for my 10 month old boy.

How often is your baby waking up in the night?

My baby is 5 months old and waking up every 3 hours. Some nights he could do a 4 hour stretch and some he would do just 2. It’s a bit all over the place to be honest. Is it normal for so many wake ups at this age? What is everyone else’s baby doing?

How do you cosleep?

I know all about sleep safe 7, the dangers of cosleeping etc etc, but there seems to be a huge difference between online and people I meet in real life. Most people I know report cosleeping, but online its villainised more.
No judgement here - I'm just genuinely curious what people are actually doing!

Comments if its something different.

Our baby has her own cot. She sleeps well in it until early morning and then only sleeps if shes on/next to me. I'll also admit to having fallen asleep breastfeeding several times (no lectures, she's safe - but other people have said they've done the same).

Swing or bassinet

We've been co-sleeping/bed-sharing with our one month old (5 weeks tomorrow) since she and I came home from the hospital. While I love the cuddles I do want our bed back too. I will add too, that we try to make it as safe as possible and want her in a safe situation. She doesn't like sleeping by herself, however we've been putting her in her swing (pic below) close to daily, since she came home and at first she only liked it for a few minutes, now it could be an hour, before she protests, asleep or awake! She likes the music and rocking motion it seems and seems fascinated by the mobile when she's awake and not sleepy. We can probably get her used to the bassinet in a similar way, but I'm wondering if we should just get two of these? My husband says the music would drive him crazy, lol, but we could just do it with white noise and see if it has the same effect. He's saying it's probably good for her to learn how to sleep in different conditions. I do agree, as our older daughter can't take naps at friends' houses and stuff. Just not sure of the best route here. Anyway tia!
