We’re not planning to conceive/try until at least next year.
My pregnancy was pretty smooth sailing. Apart from a blip at about 36 weeks where little ones movement dropped off for a couple hours.
Until I went into Labour. Then I was diagnosed with preeclampsia, spent 20 hours in Labour, had my waters broken, had a forceps delivery, 3rd degree tear, had to go into surgery and under general to be stitched back up. Fine, whatever I can handle a bit of pain. The worst part of the experience and most incredibly scary part was for my baby. Her heart rate kept dropping, for hours and hours during Labour it kept dropping and they were monitoring it like crazy. Every time I had a contraction it would drop right down and I’d fear for her life.
When she was finally born, it became evident why this kept happening: the cord was around her neck, wrapped around her body twice, and tied in a true knot.
I can’t help but feel incredibly lucky that she survived.
I’m scared to death that something like this will be missed in my next pregnancy, and my next baby won’t be so lucky to survive.
I don’t know if anyone knows how I I feel?

You could consider an elective c section to put your mind at ease? My first birth was horrendous, I ended up in hospital for 2 weeks afterwards because of complications. Had an elective c section with my 2nd, the whole experience was so nice and relaxing, it was lovely

An elective cs could put your mind at ease

I had the exact same experience as you. Forceps, third degree tear, chord around baby neck causing her heart rate to drop. I agree with the above. Elective C-section is the only way it can be prevented from happening again. The controlled environment will put your mind at ease. How did you heal from your tear? I had a 3C tear I’m 5 months postpartum and still suffering from issues related to my tear xx
I’m 10months pp now and totally healed. From memory it took a while to heal fully, I think 6months roughly. I never had my checkup though as they cancelled the apppointment and didn’t rebook it. Have you had everything checked over ?
Thanks ladies :) I think you might be right, c section is probably the easiest route. I was so desperate for a natural water birth but I think I’m too scared to attempt that in future
