Inlaws live close by and feel they should have the baby a lot by themselves (6 mths). Lots of comments about how the baby needs time away from me and he won't cope in creche (not going until June). I agreed to an hr and they stayed the day with MIL moaning about me when she thought I couldn't hear. I know older people can be set in their ways but feeling pressured and that boundaries are being overstepped. Not sure anymore who is right :/

Your child, your boundaries! I haven’t left my LO with my in laws at all and won’t be doing so until I feel 100% comfortable, whether that’s months or years down the line. I know it can be uncomfortable but it’s your baby and your decision, baby benefits most being with mum around this age and the choice should be yours with no pressure. I’d tell my partner to put the foot down and set firm boundaries with his side of the family until you feel ready! My MIl has already made comments about me still bf and contact napping and she was frankly told it was none of her business 🙈

My in laws won’t even pick their grandson up without asking me first if it’s my ok for them to hold him ,I asked them why and they said they ask me because they know it’s me that sorts baby out 90% of the time I thought that was nice and respectful unlike my daughters grandparents they would come into my room while I was sleeping and take her!! I felt like I wasn’t her mum while I was staying with them and to make it worse they was a language barrier I could only speak abit of Turkish and they spoke not 1 word in English , I tried talking to the ex husband on the phone (as he was still in England working) and he told me to stop moaning and enjoying the peace I asked to come back home to England and he refused kept me their for2 months I hated it!!!,,, you do what’s right for you x

Mum is always right end of. They're chatting shit you're baby will be fine they will adapt regardless.
