My LG is 12 weeks next Wednesday, however when it comes to her naps during the day & getting her to sleep on a night the only way she will do it is via contact napping.
Now at the beginning, I breast fed for 2 weeks (she is now formula) and so she would naturally fall asleep on me, I rarely put her down as I knew the contact would help with milk supply etc however we now have a Moses basket in our living room and although I TRY to put her down in it once she is asleep for her naps, she is awake within 10-15 minutes.
Don’t get me wrong I LOVE my cuddle time with her but everyone keeps telling me “I’m making a rod for my own back” “it’s your fault she won’t fall asleep anywhere else”
Am I???
Time with them is so precious and she is my first baby (and will be my only baby)

I fully believe you cannot spoil a baby 🤷🏼♀️ they have no long term memory! They also don’t know they are a separate person from us until at least 6 months of age.. we are almost 5 months old and still contact napping, however she will go into a Moses basket sometimes.. I’ve had people tell me similar things and I just tell them ‘no I’m helping her understand that I’m always here for her’.. they will eventually grow out of it, they aren’t gonna be 9 months old and tryna curl up on us 😂
You do you mama and raise your baby how you see fit

They are so little for such a short amount of time, enjoy those cuddles!! You are doing no damage to bubba, you’ve carried her for 9 months and she’s all you know. At 3 months old they barely know they’re separate from you and take comfort in your heartbeat and smell so sleep better.
My little girl is 8 months old and she still occasionally has a contact nap when she’s poorly or feeling off but other than that she naps independently and I miss the snuggles 😆

My baby contact napped until just recently and he’s just turned 9 months old. Some babies just need those cuddles. He’s still fed to sleep (breastfed) but now sleeps in a cot in his own room for naps and bed time (generallly wakes 2/3tomes at night still)

Just keep doing it, everyone tell me the same. My baby is 4 months and we still contact napping he doesn’t sleep more than 10 minutes if he’s not on me or next to me, but it’s just a matter of time before they start to be more independent… I enjoy all this time with my little baby and I don’t care what other people say about what I’m doing as a mom, we as moms know what it’s best for us and our children

Don't listen to what other people say. Enjoy all the cuddles and contact naps for however long it works for you. Once your lo is ready to sleep alone you will know. They will always prefer sleepy time on mum. Its the best feeling ever. I miss my contact naps so much and wish I never worried. My LG is soon to be 1. I panicked and got her to sleep in her cot at 5 months, and regretted it because she never wanted to contact to nap. Enjoy it

I have a 13 month old who relied on contact napping up until around 10 months old then she was fine sleeping for long periods by herself. It’s a pain when you need to get stuff done but also an excuse to rest. I was told the same as you but honestly, it all works out in the end don’t stress about it, if it works for you then roll with it x

Don’t listen to that, baby will naturally stop when she is ready, right now she doesn’t even realise she is her own person, she still feels like she is a piece of you
If you have a bedtime routine for the evening, once in a while just try to recreate it at nap time and put baby in her bed, if it’s not working, she just isn’t ready, someday it will just happen
My girl would only contact nap until she was 6 months, one day I just did her bedtime routine at nap time, put her in her crib, and that was it 🤷🏼♀️

You are not “making a rod for your own back”. You’re helping your baby to be securely attached.
Enjoy the time. It passes!
It’ll probably make your baby a more secure and comfortable sleeper in future if anything.
Put other things on the back burner, and have the time with her now 💕💕

Still contact napping at five months old and no immediate plans to stop. Do what works for you xx

My LG only stopped contact napping 2 weeks ago, (at 6 months old) as I had to transition her to crib naps in preparation for my return to work in April (wasn’t sure how long it would take to build up her time in them). You do what’s right for you and your baby, it’s other peoples opinions, not facts 🥰

Will you in 20 years say you wish you cuddled her less? If it's not bothering you, have all the contact naps you want, everyone else can raise their own babies 🙃
Our girl was only contact napping and I heard the same and then my mum said, do you enjoy it? I do. Then contact naps, soon you'll go to work and you won't ever get that. She was right, mat leave runs fast.

9 month old still contact naps.
She won’t do it forever and when she doesn’t anymore, I know I’ll miss it.
If you’re happy doing it, I’d ignore what everyone else says.
You can’t spoil a baby, certainly not with love and affection.
There’s a reason babies sleep better when cuddled with mum or dad. We’re their safe place.

4.5 months here, contact nap, co sleeping, bf to sleep, hugs whenever needed. It won't last forever I give and take all rhe love we can share and enjoy the cuddles.

Contact naps are the best 🥰

Contact napped for 7 months and some days I hated it because I couldn’t get anything done but when I reset my focus and learnt chores will be there everyday for the rest of our lives but my boy will only be small once I started enjoying them and he eventually grew out of them at 7 months old

My boy is 14 months old and every nap has always been contact nap (I breastfeed) except for a rare nap in the car or pram 🤷♀️
I’m very happy with the arrangement.

I saw this video a while back and thought it said it all, , feel free to show it to people who give you a hard time about it

She will grow out of it. We basically only contact napped for the first few month. Eventually she stopped falling asleep on me so I put her in her bed and she went to sleep. That was that. Was a bit sad honestly 🤣

I contact napped with my boy and he’s just stopped all by himself now at 8.5 months. I miss them tbh but was the same, constantly worrying he’ll never nap by himself. Enjoy them whilst they last 🥰
