A friend shared this doctor article explaining the effect of ultrasound on the baby, and I'm just starting to question if to avoid having any.
I know it's cute to see the baby, but I can't do it if I know it can harm long term.

Anyone else is considering this?
Do you know of other ways to know and feel the baby is safe without the ultrasound?
Not judging if you've had scans. I had never heard of this, to be honest! Wish it was more spoken about.

Sorry but what a load of rubbish ! There is no evidence to back up this article and lost any credit when she described an transvaginal ultrasound as diagnostic rape
I had to have an ultrasound every 4 weeks with both my children due to risk of premature birth and it has not harmed either of them .
I would strongly encourage you to have your nhs 12 and 20 week scan to check both you and your baby’s well being.

I would definitely recommend reading around multiple sources before posting stuff like this as it might end up spreading the wrong information. I wouldn’t want more women on here refusing ultrasounds without thorough knowledge of the pros and cons. ☺️

Had quite a few with my first, some private but towards the end needed growth scans and then to check if he was breach. I was never worried as particularly towards the end the scans helped plan for birth and made sure my baby was healthy. There a lot of different things that will get you worried but this really isn’t one
