Ramadan as a breastfeeding mum

Wasalaam sis I hope your well… if your exclusively breastfeeding then no you don’t have to fast this Ramadan as it will effect your milk supply and ur baby is still young… you can pay fidiyah and then make them up later in the year preferably in the winter when the days are shorter and your baby is at a stage where they are eating solids too and do not completely rely on breast milk.
This is what I did but you can ask your local imam also. Some people say if your going to make up the fasts then you don’t need to pay fidiyah but I was unsure so did it anyway. It’s charity at the end of the day and Allah swt is pleased when we give charity. X
