I know this post might ruffle a few feathers but I really don’t want to put my little one through the jabs and what looks like weeks of upset!
All I’ve seen recently it’s post about how baby has changed, food intolerances, skin issues all from the 1 year jabs 😰

I'd much rather have an upset baby for a few days (which is not even necessarily the case) rather than to risk polio, diphtheria, tetanus,...
They could literally die. Why risk it? 😭😭😭

I’ll be honest, I’m not looking forward to my LG having her jabs (which are tomorrow). She’s been unwell for like a month now, one thing after another and repeatedly getting temperatures, been at the doctors pretty much every week for the last 4 weeks.
I also know that I’m terrified of her getting sick because she hasn’t had her jabs, the thought of her getting seriously unwell from not having the jabs is far greater than my worry of her having them.

Our son won’t be having his I’ve done enough research to know the best thing for him will be not having it done

I get that you see more of the post with issues however there is 11.5k people in this group so majority haven't posted because there's been no issues with them.
My LG cried for a few mins, had tender legs for 2ish days and the spiked a temp for about 12 hours a week later. Nothing else occured.

My little boy was fine, had a temp about 9 days after and that was it. So much is going on for them at this age, half of those things could have been caused by something else. My friends babies were also all fine. The choice is absolutely yours but I'm fairly certain jabs can't change personality or temperament x

I can’t answer this properly right now as finding it too triggering after looking after a (previously completely healthy) child in paediatric ICU this week at work with measles. Just please read into the very real complications of all of these viruses that you will be choosing not to protect your child against. I understand the anxiety about vaccine side effects but these illnesses are very real. We are currently in a measles outbreak and this is life threatening and very contagious. There is no evidence that the jabs cause food intolerances or skin issues but even if there was I would 100% take all of these over the life long effects of some of these complications and that’s coming from a mum with a child with eczema and multiple food allergies (all of which were diagnosed prior to her first jabs).
For what it’s worth my daughter has had her 1 year jabs and was absolutely fine, not one side effect not even a temperature.

I’m not here to tell you to vaccinate your child that is your choice. I don’t like putting my daughter through pain either. She was in NICU when she was born and she had constant blood tests etc, which caused her pain and it was horrible. After her being in an incubator I don’t take potentially causing her side effects voluntarily lightly either.
I got her the jabs, she was fine you wouldn’t have known she had them, tenderness in the injection sites the next day and slightly irritable but nothing a dose of calpol didn’t fix. No delayed fever so far (we’re on day 11). I haven’t posted on here saying this because what would be the point? It would just be rubbing it in to people whose babies have had side effects.
Roald Dahl wrote an open letter speaking about the vaccine (it’s easily findable on Google) his daughter died of measles when a vaccine wasn’t yet available. I read that the night before I took her to get them any anxiety was quashed.

I took my little boy last week, and he was fine. The needles were in & done within 20 seconds & he cried for about 30 seconds, gave him a cuddle and he was fine. He had a temperature that night which I gave calpol for and it went in the morning and that was it. Nothing else.
I think you should maybe research into the pros & cons of vaccinating your child and decide for yourself. Could you live with yourself if your child became seriously ill and you could have prevented it by taking them for the vaccine? Every child is different in how their body copes with jabs, but essentially, they can be life saving x

My little girl was poorly for a few days nothing major. Surely the benefits of the jabs outweigh the potential negatives?

My little brother had to be rushed to hospital last week having seizures (he literally couldn’t control his own body) and was diagnosed with meningitis in his brain. The drs were worried and told us to be prepared.
Miraculously he got through it as he also had this horrible virus going around which protected his brain as it spiked his temp so much.
The dr asked my mum if he had his jabs when he was a baby and she said yes he had everything and his reply was the thing that still gives me chills ‘good cos if he hadn’t of had them he wouldn’t be here now, he was very lucky’.
Once he regained consciousness and was able to talk again he asked if my little one had her jabs (she had the week before, he couldn’t remember) and said good cos he wouldn’t want anyone to go through that!
It’s not a scare tactic just a real world bump back to earth about how important these jabs are! 😩

If everyone parent whose kid had the jab and where perfectly fine would take the time to make a post about it, it would drown the few post about babies being fussy after it….
Also, not because the time makes it look like it that those things where actually cause by the vaccine, coincidences and funny timing happens a lot

My LO was a bit sad and had a bit of pain in her legs for 2 days then she was absolutely fine.

All these things happen to children at some point anyway. Silly not to have jabs for such awful diseases if you purely looking at numbers now vs past. Some poorer countries would love to be able to provide.

I relate to this! My baby was premature and in SCBU, within 24 hours of life was made to have a lumbar puncture for meningitis and I’ve kept her bundled up because I was so worried about her getting a serious illness… at 7 weeks old she got bronchiolitis and RSV and had to be resuscitated multiple times… not quite like measles or anything but still scary all the same and these are two illnesses they don’t get jabs for ! My girl had them last week, she’s had a bit of a cold before and after but hardly a fever so far and just slightly tender legs. My nurse is wonderful and tells me to make sure I give calpol every 4-6 hours for 2-3 days starting from straight after her jabs and I’ve never ever had a problem. She also said there’s a bit of an outbreak of measles so it’s definitely recommended and I have an older boy at school surrounded by lots of children all the time and bringing home all germs xx

My baby was absolutely fine after his jabs. There is currently a measles outbreak. This is life threatening. I wouldn't want to take that chance with my child's life.

If it’s anything, my little girl is 14 months, started getting fussy with food around 12 months, born with eczema and is a Velcro baby, all regardless of the jabs. Their temperaments and behaviours change all the time anyway 🫶🏼

My girl was fine, no temp, no issues with skin or food intolerance. She had hers 3 weeks ago.

My little girl was fine she just cried for about half an hour and had sore legs

Listen to your gut. A shot in the dark is a great series!!! I believe in medical freedom 🙏🏼 Dr Sears is a great resource.

It was very quick. My LG cried for 30 seconds and that was it. Area was slightly tender for the next couple of days but she had no temperature at all. Arguably easier than the other jabs she had.

They’re unpleasant in the short term - baby will feel a bit unwell like we do if you have the flu or covid jab. I’d recommend talking to your GP so that you can get the correct information - a lot of the information online isn’t founded in research or statistics or evidence. There is a hell of a lot of scaremongering around vaccines, most of the information used to do so isn’t factual or correct.
Knowing the risks of these illnesses we are vaccinating against I know what my choice is for my child.

No one can tell you what to do when it comes to your child but what I will say is please please please make sure you do as much research as possible from reputable sources before making a decision like that.
My friend’s baby was recently in intensive care from measles & it’s petrifying - the reasons you state are quite minor in comparison & I’ve not personally heard of any of them as a result of vaccines!
Whatever you choose, just make sure it’s the right one for you and baby! x

I’m so sorry that kind of start is heartbreaking it’s horrible seeing them so vulnerable. I try and rationalise it but I FREAK about her catching anything to be honest. I’m so sorry you went through that and she caught those illnesses when she was so young still it must have been a lot on top of that start. I hope she’s doing well now. Sending you all the love! 🩷

It's definitely a personal choice, but there's no way after researching for over a year that I could ever vaccinate. Every parent will decide what's right for their family. Just follow your gut xx

she’s doing amazingly now! You’d never know she was premature and a rough start! I hope you are your little one are thriving. It’s so scary isn’t it ! I was never like it with my first but everything was so different with my little girl ! Sending you all the love too 🫶🏼🤍
