Hi all. I'm 9 days postpartum with my baby boy and feeling an overwhelming amount of anxiety. I'm having a very hard time letting anyone hold my baby, even my husband. I don't want to be controlling and selfish but the negative intrusive thoughts are out of control. Feeling like I'm spiraling and can't seem to calm down. Any tips? ♥️

I don’t know how it is in the US but in the UK after our babies are born we have visits from the midwives and health visitors who check on us and our babies. Do you have anything like this? That would be the first port of call to try and have an open discussion with them about how your feeling. Sometimes there js something called the “baby blues” such a silly name I know, but this means we can feel down and very anxious after our babies are born but this does subside within a few weeks.
I struggled with anxiety and ppd after my first and like you didn’t want anyone holding my baby or caring for him, I made the step of speaking with my partner and explaining exactly how I felt after that I felt a weight had been lifted as I wasn’t acting in a way he didn’t understand you have just been three a lot and a big life adjustment your only 9 days in give your self time. You’ll be in pain still and running on fumes this all adds to Heightened anxiety. Reach out to who you can ❤️

I’m hoping you find peace. I would talk to your doctor about PPA.
I am already having high anxiety at 28 weeks. So I’m going to bring it up to my doctor at my next appointment to discuss a plan for after birth because I can already see myself dealing with everything you are.
