Hey! My LO is 15 weeks, we’ve bought some kendamil baby rice to try when he’s 4 months, has anyone used this? Is it too soon?
He is extremely interested when we are eating and even tries to grab himself.. but it makes me nervous from reading stuff online.
He is currently EBF with around 10 feeds in a 24 hour period.
Thanks x

I bought some of the aldi blueberry and banana baby rice to try as my LO is 4 months next week and he’s been starting to watch us eat and take more interest. May not try it next week and wait till he’s grabbing but he gets very excited every time we are eating

There’s evidence that starting too early could cause digestive issues in later life. So I’m personally holding off a little longer until their digestive system is a more developed.

I was about to say this so I am glad you agree!
most of the people I have spoken too have said the same thing too. My little one watches us eat but I am on the side of better to be safe then sorry.
I also read that it causes IBS and other issues later in life when weaned too early! 🤦♀️😭

I used this baby rice at 3 and half months. My LO had terrible reflux and since I have been weaning him I have been able to stop his lactulose and his tummy is sorting its self out.
My LO really enjoyed this baby rice. Mothers have used instincts for millions of years, do what feels right for your LO they are all so different x

Far too soon in my opinion.

I weaned my baby with pumpkin at 3 months now 4.5 and doing all sorts of puree and I also make rusks for her in the morning for breakfast.was just surprised when everyone is saying it’s too early to give this food and that food but do what your instincts tell

Has anyone read the early weaning studies, the only thing I can find is a study on mice and pigs. I did find studies on how our diets have changes and farming but nothing else. Sorry to bombard the post but if anyone does have access to the studies would they mind sending it to me. I'm genuinely interested to see the data.
