My baby is 5 weeks old, she is EBF but has had the odd bottle of expressed milk using the Hakka. I’ve just bought a pippeta pump as I want to pump a little for times I might be away from baby for a few hours or so my partner can feed her a bit more.
When is best to pump? How often?

I do both and have been since the second week. The nurse that helped me after I got home said to use the rules of feeds. Meaning, when the baby is being fed with a bottle you pump. So I pump 3-4 times a day and feed in between. If my nipples need a break from feeding I'll pump more and bottle feed for a whole day just to give me and my boobs a break.

For the occasional bottle, you probably only need to pump once a day, especially if also using the haakaa to collect let down.
Your best bet is to probably just pick a time when you can consistently do it, but early in the morning is when your prolactin levels are at their highest so that will likely get you the most bang for your buck.
If your partner wants to be able to feed her regularly, pump while he gives her a bottle, especially for the first 8-12 weeks. This will keep your supply up.
