Wondering when to tell work. Last time I had to tell them early as I went off with bad sickness but so far so good on that front. Also thinking I should tell them soon as maternity appointments are covered without having to use leave, but obviously only if they know about it
Have others already let their employer know?

I have told my boss, only because it's an IVF pregnancy, she knew the date of the transfer, and we're quite close and she's lovely. I also work with my sister in law (we're both teachers on the same course in a college) so there's been a fair amount of chatter in the office 😆

I'll probably not tell them until after I've had my scan. You will still get time off for doctors/hospital appointments so shouldn't need to use holidays

I have told my boss due to the nature of my job

I've told just my direct manager confidentially so there is a bit more context around things like my frequent bathroom trips and I’m not just taking the piss (pun intended)

I've only told my direct manager confidentially, as I've been feeling out of it. And also before she was my manager we were good work friends and she knew about my previous pregnancy loss. So it was nice to be able to tell her the good news, but also so she'd be mindful of the workload.

I told work to make them aware as we have policies in place to protect myself

I told my work today! Due to the fact I travel around the UK and also abroad sometimes! And we need to plan incase I don’t feel ok with flying at a certain point etc xx

I told my direct manager at week 6. She’s also a Mum and recently had a miscarriage herself, plus we have a good rapport. I felt I could trust her and wanted to give context for feeling unwell / appointments etc. if my manager was a man, I probably wouldn’t say anything until I needed to
