Hello! We’ll be going away with baby for a weekend and the hotel is providing the travel cot however I just got a message to say they don’t provide a mattress.
I’m a bit confused. Do you need a mattress in a travel cot?
If yes, what kind? Any recommendations?

I would double check again, as usually a mattress and cot is provided but you provide the bedding?

We had a sheepskin that we’d take on holidays with us (obviously not abroad). You need a proper baby sheepskin though

I was so confused when we first started travelling with our baby as most places would provide a proper mattress that goes into the travel cot but some places said that the thin hard foldable thing that comes with the travel cot was the 'mattress'. I guess it is, but ive never let my daughter sleep on one because it just seemed so hard and uncomfortable and our sheets never fit on them properly. We're going away in April and I actually asked if the property if they could invest in a proper mattress themselves as they're only £20 or so and would save us having to buy and transport it, and they have!
