If you have it you should get all this information when you collect your blood monitor etc

I have but midwives usually don't scare you so that is why i wanted to know what i should know about it

Ok i tested positive and just got my blood monitor today. Expect to test your blood glucose 4 times a day, cat carbs and up proteins, veg, nuts if you can have.
You can not have a home birth. I'm not worried, as long as you do what you are told you should be fine, if you need tablets or insulin they will give it to you after monitoring you just test at the beginning. They blood test your liver and kidneys to see if you can have the tablets or not. For baby it can mean, bigger or smaller baby, too much amniotic fluid, prem birth, increased risk of pre-eclampsia, baby having low blood sugar or jaundice after birth. They will monitor you and baby after delivery for at least half a day and you can go home if the results are all good. The further you are in pregnancy the more your body becomes resistant to insulin. That's all the info I can remember from today

Thankyou so much love

I have GD. Been advised as long as it's controlled you can go full term no issues. It's testing bloods and administering any meds/ diet control. Personally mine isn't being managed well and I'm falling out of required ranges as I become quickly more resistant. I've been advised if that continues baby may need to come early. They especially like to do this if you are on insulin as it stops big babies and complications.
I've been told me and baby will be at hospital at least 24 hours post delivery to monitor us both
