Bath time

How old was your baby when you started bath time? How long do you keep them in it? Do they like or hate it? My baby boy hates it and I don’t know how to get him to enjoy it.

I think I started bathing my girl maybe 2 weeks old. She hates it, she hates baths and just being naked in general.
I have one of them bowls where you can wash them outside the bath. I lay down my mat and put a towel on it and wash her that way currently but she's 6 weeks old. I do want to try and bath her but at the moment she won't have it and I don't want to make her scream about it 🤣

Have you tried putting a wash cloth on his head and one on his belly, to keep him nice and warm?

I started at 4 weeks but she did hate it at first but she’s getting better now. I make sure the room is nice and warm and wash and dry her head and face separately then place her in the bath and lay a wash cloth underneath her on the mesh seat and then place one over her body and keep squeezing water over it to keep her warm. We play nice calming music and my husband or I distracts her with toys and talking to her while the other gently washes her. She even enjoyed just sitting in the bath the other day for quite a few minutes while we talked to her. I usually just keep an eye on the temperature of the bath as to how long I keep her in there. It’s when removing her from the bath now that she has a meltdown lol so we’re warming the towels on the radiator - she is taken out of the bath and placed in one then carried into the lounge (we bath her in a baby bath on the breakfast bar in the kitchen) where it’s warmer and moved into a different warmed towel to finish drying her off.

It just happens over time when they get used to the sensation. I would make bath times short sweet and practical at your little ones age. Then as they get used to it you can make it longer and chat etc… it doesn’t take long before they start feeling a little calmer in the water x

I bathed my baby everyday from coming home from hospital, not necessarily cleaning him but letting him sit in the water

You could try having a bath with baby and they may feel more comforted with you next to them?

My boy hated it at first so i started bathing him in the living room with the bath seat. i’d put his clothes and towel on the radiator, dim lights as well as a disco ball which he loves, bubble bath and lay everything out all ready so he isn’t cold for that long and now he loves it

I started as soon as her cord fell of.
I used a big cloths to keep her warm for first 4 months but she absolutely loves bath.
Now she is 19 months and she cannot leave without bath I think if she had a chance she would live in bath and stay there 24/7.
I never had any problems with bathing her

We gave LO her first bath when she was 2 weeks old (just water, no soap or shampoo).

She liked it at first, then went through a phase of always crying and now she absolutely loves it again

We did first bath at a week old once the cord fell off.She hated the first bath but now loves them. She will be 4week Friday and we do them every 2nd day but if needs one that day then she will just get an extra one ☺️

We did the first bath after his cord fell off. He hated it lol. We then decided to bring him in the shower with one of us for a couple weeks (twice a week) . He was pretty chill. We have since switched back to baths and he’s chill as a cucumber.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵
