What do you put your little ones in to sleep when they come home from hospital? As most of the sleeping bags I’ve found have a minimum weight of about 4kgs/8lbs… are there any sleeping bags out there for smaller babies? Or do you have to use blankets instead 😕 thanks x

I used blankets when we first came home until he was big enough for a sleeping bag x

I found swaddling to be best for my little one and I would do this with a muslin, thicker ones for colder weather

We used sheets until she was big enough to use a sleeping bag, for us it was once the head can't slip through the neck hole x

had to swaddle with blankets. you can find carters swaddle sacks for preemies on amazon but they fit my little guy super weird so was a waste of money for me

We tucked cellular blanket in under a mattress- same as in NICU. He’d kick it off most of the nights 😂
Also keep checking the head opening we had to wait a bit longer as he had a smaller head. Basically the weight is just a guide the main thing is that when the sleeping bag is closed the head is big enough not to slip through the opening on top as baby can slide into the bag and suffocate

i also tucked a blanket because my boy moved so much the swaddle would get too loose and go up over his face if we didn’t haha

Swaddleme by ingenuity pod. I found it at Walmart. It zips up, weight is 5 to 12 lbs but that thing is sooooo snug there’s no way I’d squeeze a baby much more than 5 or 6 lbs in it.

Love to dream swaddles can start from 5lbs, there’s loads on Vinted. You can also swaddle in a muslin cloth if you don’t want to use a specific swaddle sack. X

I used cellular blankets, my little girl is now 4 months old, she came home at 3 weeks old and we still use the blankets. No reason for it other than I didn’t see the point of changing her in to a bag when she’s quite happy with the blankets

Purflo is 3kg and I think love to dream do lower weights too. Although my baby hated both and liked the supermarket ones more. We used cellular blankets in the Moses basket, but struggled with that in the next to me bed.

We started to use halo sleep sack once he was 5 lbs, only thing that really works for us. We have 3 of them
