Tommee Tippee Nappy Bin

Hi, I am just after some advice.

Is the Tommee Tippee Nappy Bin worth the money?

I have heard different opinions about it.

Got mine free to the Amazon wish list gift thing they do

And we used it once šŸ˜‚šŸ™ˆ but I can’t be bothered with the extra faff personally

We have one, and it is good. Using it for our second. Keep it upstairs in the spare room. Easy for nappy changes upstairs.
You can buy the cartridges of 6 refills on amazon. They are quite pricey but last a few months. Doesn't smell. You do have the joy of emptying with the nappy snake šŸ˜…šŸ¤¢šŸ˜·

Using a plastic bag is so much affordable and does the same thing and costs nothing when you go to do your shopping. A lot of companies try to rip off new mothers and I end up just putting diapers in my normal bins to save space and money. Definitely not worth it if you already have bins in your house because you’ll notice after two weeks you’ll end up just placing diapers on the floor until morning instead of getting up every time when you need to change them. In my opinion not worth it and a waste of money, you can do it for free by just putting them in your own bin after the night

I think they are worth it personally. We lived in a flat til my baby was about 11 months and it was a life saver. Now that we’re in a house we still use it. The bin contains the smells unless it’s open or getting pretty full. The refills are expensive though which is really annoying.

Avatar

Not worth it in my opinion. We were given one from a friend but just use it like a normal bin.

Avatar

I think they are worth it, I have one upstairs and one downstairs, use them every single day and little one is now 11 months old

Avatar

We got it ilon offer and then bought replacement liners (not TT brand). Works great. But once they go on solids, no nappy bin can contain that smell

Avatar

Got one free off my friend and i never used it and all its just easier to put them in straight it normal bin

Avatar

I think they’re worth it, especially if you live in a flat or if you just think throwing nappies out EVERY day is just a bit long winded šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø. Our daughter is 15m and we still use ours!

Avatar

I got mine free off amazon, and tbh I love it. I don't use the cartridges anymore, just buy nappy sacks and just use it as a bin. Keeps the smell contained. Better than using kitchen bin or going outside after every change!

Avatar

I love mine!! I just use normal bags to refill it not the actual bags xx

Avatar

We have the bin but we didn’t bother re buying anymore bag cartridge things as I just thought was pointless and not worth the price they sell them for. We just put the nappies straight into the bin as they are

Avatar

A normal bin with a lid and nappy bags is just as good.
We have one and it still smells so really don’t see the point.
The refills are so expensive. I’ve stopped buying them.

Avatar

I got given one and I probably wouldn’t pay for it. As people say it’s just like a normal bin and the refills cost a lot, wouldn’t bother personally

Avatar

I bought one and I've never used it šŸ˜‚ it's more of an ornament now x

Avatar

We have one in each baby room. We no longer but the cassette for inside, but put nappies inside nappy sacks in it and it holds stink quite well.

Avatar

We got one from our friend and use it all the time. Just do a twist on the cartridge if it's a smelly poo. Don't really think £13 every two months is that expensive.

Avatar

Yes but get it either in a bundle and get xl or just get the free amazon gift registry gift one i keep xl in our bedroom and small one upstairs as we change the most in our bedroom and its just convenient not to tie sacks and put in bin especially when you have pets

Avatar

absolutely not

Avatar

i ended up just filling mine w a black bin liner, it’s air tight so it stops the smell but it isn’t worth buying the pods at all

Avatar

Definitely not worth it xx

Avatar

Not worth it
We got this bin and it’s amazing could be filled to the brim with poopy nappies and you can’t smell a thing
Super easy to refill as well :)

Avatar

The refills are really expensive but they are helpful

Avatar

SHEIN do them

Avatar

I bought it but I didn’t find it useful since we use disposable bags for individual dirty nappy.

Avatar

Tbh when I had a newborn and the nappies were small I'd just throw dirty ones in the bin outside straight away, wet ones I just put in a nappy bag and collected a bunch throughout the day and then threw it in the outside bin.

I think Motherhood has made me more bitter than I realized…

This is such a ramble but I don’t know where else to put it all.

I’m four months in and I don’t really have hobbies right now. I don’t do anything for myself except maybe doomscrolling or listening to a podcast while I breastfeed my baby. I used to craft and have game nights with friends. Activities that usually are at least 2 hour stretches. Now if I have an hour free my mind immediately goes to baby, or doing something in the house for baby.

And I thought I didn’t mind. Like I knew postpartum could be very mentally consuming. But I think it’s altering how I view people around me and it’s prodding at my relationship with my husband.

He spends most of his time making food for us, looking after our dogs, playing with the baby, ect. But he still has time for his hobby. Spends maybe an hour a night on it. Even adapted to using a bot for shopping for his hobby after a certain incident where we had to have a heart to heart after he left me home alone with the baby for hours during a busy workday (I work from home) to shop for his hobby.

And yet there’s like this little green eyed monster in me that rages every time I know he’s running off to start up the bot. Even though I’m the reason he does it this way.

We took a family trip last weekend to see his best friend and their kids and let them meet the baby. He brought the laptop. He’s always brought a laptop on trips and it’s never been a problem to me before. But one night we both woke up while the baby was still asleep, and he wandered out of the room. I tried to fall back asleep but couldn’t. So I went to the kitchen to try having something warm to drink to settle me. And he was there at the table running the bot from his laptop. I flipped out at him. But there really wasn’t reason to. It’s not like I needed help with the baby and he was ignoring me. He wasn’t avoiding our friends. He was just awake and unable to sleep and found something to do with his time. Yet my snap reaction was ā€œwhy the hell would you do this on a family trip?ā€

I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the less complete sleep from baby’s middle of the night feed? My brain being just consumed by baby? Maybe I’m not as over that shopping incident as I thought? But I’m just so annoyed at his hobby right now. The green eyed monster thinks ā€œyou could be using that time differentlyā€ but realistically to do what exactly??? Stare at our baby in the dark???

I spent probably an hour apologizing to him after I snapped. And he’s of course hurt and frustrated because I said some very mean things in the moment.

I don’t want to be this jealous, angry person. But I also don’t know how to find time for myself in this right now outside of basic hygiene. It’s like I’ve forgotten how to be myself, even if just for an hour.

Maybe I need a therapist.

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong šŸ¤”. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7
