Getting major anxiety as I have no clue how newborns should be covered for sleep? My parents just used a cellular blanket in their generation but now there’s sleep bags and togs and I’m not sure what is the best and cheapest way

Depends on your room temperature, if it’s cold, put the heating on low. If it’s hot, have the heating off. I sleep mine in a vest, baby grow, swaddle and blanket. Baby temperature is 36.5 to 37.5 Celsius. If you wanted to be accurate you could get a baby thermometer for their arm pit. I’ve got one but I just test with my fingers normally. You put two fingers down their chest or their back and decide if you think they are warm enough.
Mine was fussy with the sleeping bag so I’m saving it for when he is older. The stretchy swaddle he likes a lot more.

Pretty confident swaddles

I love sleep sacks! You can adjust the TOG you choose to purchase depending on the temperature of your room. My 1 month old loves them

really?! This is my first so I have no clue 🤣 I’m terrified of Sids but I think I’ll do a lot of research anyway x

I could not get the baby to sleep under a blanket after we got home as he’d just wake as I was sorting it so we went for a sleeping bag. Sweet dreamers and tommee tippee are what we used. Arms in a for a few weeks but then out and he was sleeping similarly but it was easier to breastfeed with arms out.

At the day care I work at we just use a fitted sheet and only certain sleep sacks to ensure safe sleep with whatever they’re wearing and we lay them on their backs up until at least a year
