Hey so my little boy loves his food but I feel guilty that I only really give him purées. He has porridge for breakfast and melty puffs and soft snacks and for lunch and dinner it’s always pouches and purées. Reason behind this is that he only has 1 tooth and I get worried that If I give him something he has to chew that he might choke.
Does anyone else feel the same? What can I give him other than pouches?
Having mum guilt.
Thanks in advance x

Don't feel guilty if you can. My baby girl is the same age, has no teeth and I feel the same way. She has purees and soft foods now and again. I've tried toast, baby wafers, soft roast potatoes, bread and butter, soft steamed carrots, baby veggie crisps and low sugar yogurt. Hope this helps spark ideas for you 😁

If you doubt your baby’s ability to chew, pop your finger in their mouth for a minute! Honestly, they can chew just fine without teeth. Even when they get their first few teeth they’re all at the front whereas most chewing happens at the sides. Definitely don’t let this stop you from offering a range of foods!
My baby loves toast and pasta, would definitely recommend both as quick wins 😊

Give him soft cooked foods that’s he’s able to hold in his hand. My little girl is 10 months and eats whatever we eat. However she’s still not a fan of the texture of mince, but we still offer it her. She loves anything pasta or chicken. Look up in baby led weaning as that helped me alot as a first time mum. Also loud and red, let them go ahead. Silent and blue they need help from you (with the choking)

Scrambled eggs and pancakes are good soft foods too 😊
