C section booked!

First baby was emergency c section so second will just be a scheduled c section and I’m booked for June 17th! Monday at 8am will be a tough time 😫 but at least we have a date if all goes well!

That's the day I'm getting induced 🥰

Could I ask for a C-section or is that something that the doctor has to recommend

Avatar

usually women have the right to ask for a c-section. You can ask your OB. They will likely want to counsel you because the risk and recovery is higher and harder in women that are low risk.

Avatar

I’m not sure! I didn’t get a lot of info for my first, I was pretty out of it. I’m sure you could ask your OB. I wanted badly to deliver normally at least in this second round, but my pelvis isn’t built for it! So my OB automatically put me to c section

How many months are you

Avatar

6 months - she said we would schedule it after anatomy scan if all was coming up normal

Avatar

I have the same situation but sadly had to change hospitals because the doctor kept insisting that things could be different with my second pregnancy.

Funny thing is that the doctor that did my emergency c section warned me to never have vaginal birth because my pelvic was too small.

My first delivery was absolutely traumatic and my daughter wasn’t breathing for the first 45 seconds. I couldn’t believe the lack of empathy from the doctors but now found a hospital that is all about the patients and their wishes.

I will be 6 months next week and I hope they do that for me

Avatar

same! My daughter wasn’t breathing either! And they were worried she had lost function of her arm because her head and her right arm had been stuck for 6 hours! Thankfully everything was okay, but yeah my doctor said nope, skipping pushing so my recovery can be smoother, especially since I’m now having boy who is on track to be much bigger

Avatar

have you set up with your OB? She told me they schedule after 20 weeks but as late as 38 weeks for first time moms

Avatar

super scary but at least now you will know what to expect and the delivery will go much smoother than first time!

Avatar

here’s to smooth c sections for the both of us! 😊 have you scheduled yours already?

Avatar

amen! yes, mine is on june 24th at 7:00AM. I am worried about being hungry before the c section. 😆😆😆 That is the only thing that i’m fearing right now and the first 💩 after the surgery. TMI, I know! lol

Avatar

HAHA yes the after party 😬 and yes same!! I’m like a 5am blood draw and they don’t start until 8am?? No food for 12 hours before?? I’m going to be a wreck! I told my fiancé he’s going to have to wheel me in still asleep!

Avatar

hahaha dying! we will have time to get mentally ready for that! we got this. 🙌🙌🙌🙌

Avatar

I was a little surprised she scheduled early but I was okay with it!

Avatar

I know! Now it exists in my mind!! A due date is flexible, a lot of unknowns, but a c section date is like a solid appt to have a whole baby 😦 lol good and weird at the same time

Avatar

I didn’t know you could schedule it so early-

Avatar

you may want to ask about scheduling c section on your next prenatal appointment. I only got that scheduled because I told my doctor I need to get organized since we have a lot going on during that month.

Avatar

my doctor told me the dates will fill up fast and since I have fairly uncomplicated pregnancies, she felt good about putting it on the surgeons calendar and hers, and making sure me and my family could prepare

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

Hey what are your current symptoms?

I’m 37+5

I’m pretty mobile still but anything over a hour or 2 and I’m in discomfort

Getting up from a sitting position is hard

Some of baby’s movements now are bordering on painful especially around my crotch/pelvis

I’m exhausted very easily and nap every single day

Can basically only breathe out my mouth now and I’m snoring and dribbling 😂

Standing in one leg is very painful 😂

Some waves of pain/ tightening but I regular and mild

Low period type aches

And I feel like a fire breathing dragon with this acid reflux

My nose is growing 😂

My fingers swell slightly and go numbs in my sleep so that and constant toilet breaks keep me up ( checked swelling with MW and consultant and all normal, not a worry)

I also do not want to be social in person like I’d rather everyone just be my penpal atm lol

What are your symptoms?
