Baby is 7.5 months and for the past week has got so clingy. He screams if I don't pick him up, even if dad who he loves has him. If I leave the room for a second, he screams, if I put him on the bed and sit next to him whilst I put socks on he cries. If im on the floor with him he cries until he's in my arms, and if he crawls off me to get a toy, realises he's not on me anymore and starts crying again.
Its not all the time say 85% and a lot worse in the evening but its destroying me definitely the hardest thing we've had to deal with yet.
Everything I've read says to ignore him so he learns, and we've tried small things e.g. I leave the room he cries I walk back in (as if im doing chores) ignore him, leave then come back again, but he's just hysterical sometimes.
Its got to the point I have to say bye and leave the room, whilst dad gets him down for his nap (and has to deal with the hysterics)
Any advice or tips would be very welcome!

Around this age babies start to learn that they’re separate from their mums and that people and objects can leave and potentially not come back. Although it’s a really hard stage, it’s completely normal and doesn’t last forever.
Playing Peekaboo is really good for this, because baby learn that mums gone when hiding, but soon comes back xx

Exactly the same situation here! It's sooo draining 😬😩

Same here :( I can’t do anything without my little one attached to me. If I put him down he cries and crawls back to me. If I walk out the room he screams and screams. Even his dad can’t hold him if I’m in the same room, he just cries until I hold him. At night time he wakes up screaming randomly until I hold him. It started at 6 months for me and he is now just over 7 months.
