My daughter is 13 Mos. And still sleeps with a bottle at night. We've tried 4 sippy cups and sippys with straws and she hates them all. We have her drinking milk 40/60 water since she's recently drinking less milk, but I've been shamed by my mom CONSTANTLY for this and have been trying my hardest without any result. Our pediatrician only at hee 12 mo. Appt said the goal is to try to not be on milk by 15 mos. but I don't think she'll be off bottle by then. Am i crazy? I feel like such a failure.

My 13mo son also has a bottle at night. I'm currently reducing the proportion of milk to slowly replace it with water. We saw our pediatrician last week, he's not concerned at all. He did not even say that we should try to stop the bottle.
I don't see the issue, really. We have enough actual problems to think about.

I started with sippy cups at night. And now we do straws. But it took awhile. And sometimes and won't take the straw at night but I'll do the sippy cup. But we're completely off bottles. That waa a struggle. It's not easy. Don't beat herself up.

So as a nursing mom we aren't told to night wean until at least 18 months. It's totally normal for them to still want that comfort. I think people get too hung up on literal babies relying on their comfort item when they're most vulnerable (asleep or sleepy). Sure it's great to try to get them off of it as bottle rot is a concern but we do also have to meet our children where they are. The added pressure is most likely stressing both of you out and isn't productive overall as the general anxiety is being felt. You'll get there eventually!

My baby still has a bottle in the morning and before bed but what I did is I cut a slit in the nipple so it's way faster like it would be if she drank from a cup. We do cups throughout the day with water and juice but haven't gotten her to drink milk out of the cups yet. The milk is cows milk is cows milk only. The pediatrician didn't even ask us about them lol so idk

My daughter is 13 almost 14 months and she was exclusively breast fed and she still goes to bed breastfeeding and wakes up once or twice to eat… trying to wean her but every baby is different you’re doing great momma<3

I have 2 year old we still offer milk but he talk with me listen a story or lie down watch stars on the ceiling for 15 to 20 minutes. And then he drinks 8 oz in the morning 11am after his breakfast. He takes a nap by himself at 12:30 around for 1 hr
