Hiya! My son is 6 months old and we have been weaning for a little over a month now. (I started a little bit earlier) he’s been having portage or rusks for breakfast until I realised how much sugar is In that. So I think it’s time to try something different. I was thinking toast but I’m a little nervous about that. I was going to start off with toast and butter or toast, butter and some backed beans juice?
I’m scared he’s going to choke honestly!

We do toast with Philadelphia cheese on. 9/10 my girl will just suck it and spit it out because we find bread/toast/crumpets etc quite hard to actually swallow and she does tend to gag more on them. But we keep offering 😊

thank you! I’m trying to offer my son more finger foods so he gets use to it but I’m terrified haha😂 yeah my son does that with cucumber sticks. He sucks them and spits any bits that come of out his mouth 😂 xx

Try a banana if you pull down the segments it will naturally split into 3 then they can hold a piece without it being slimey like when it’s cut up
Fruit like water melon is good to naw on
If you’re worried about baby porridge having too much sugar try a tiny bit of wheetabix with breast milk or formula x

Also try scrambled eggs babies tend to love it

I brought eggs yesterday to try him with… but I’m really nervous to try scrambled eggs as it can be bitty and small… or is that how I make it 😂 xxx

try scrambling and then make an omelette, slice up the egg just like the toast you posted! I did this with the baby I used to nanny and she loved it! I’m going to try it with my son soon, he’s 6 months too x
