I was the same, I think it’s all of the medication they give you in the hospital that make you swell up like that… but all you can do is drink lots of water , electrolytes just keep your self as hydrated as possible and your body will make it go down on its own

Same after vaginal on right leg. Hydration and you'll pee it out. Elevate your leg to help. If you can walk around your home a little bit as well

Hi! I didn’t have a c section but I did have a lot of swelling in my legs and feet during the first couple days pp. my OB said to just drink a lot of water b/c using the bathroom helps get rid of the added fluids from delivery (which caused the swelling)

i was the same way and walking around helped my swelling and elevating your legs when you're resting helped me

Elevate your feet on a pillow. Wear compression socks and stay off your feet as much as possible. My swelling went down after 2 weeks, now I’m in week 3 and no swelling at all.

Elevate and stay off of them. Wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery! 🫶🏾

This happened to me too. I got off the pain meds they gave me and it went away after 3 days.

this happened to me as well. walking made it worse initially, but then helped as the circulation started flowing better. lots of water and elevate your feet / legs if necessary (i really didn’t do this) mine went away after i was home and started moving around a bunch more

When laying down elevate your feet so that they are above your heart and do ankle pumps and circles to help circulate the fluid. Make sure youre taking very small walks in your house every hour in the day to prevent a blood clot from forming.

Mines were HORRIBLY swollen after my c section for like 5-6 days. I did epsom salt soaks, constantly moved feet including some walking, elevated legs and my partner would massage them. They literally shrunk one day to the next though.

Happened to me too! It was terrible and had a hard time excepting it was normal 😂 took about 1 week after the procedure for it to go away. I didn’t do anything special. The docs told me just to drink water and elevate my feet.

funny thing is that it’s only my left one now my right one has improved

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
