Hi all,
My baby boy is 7 months old, he eats 2 meals a day. I would like to know whether he should have bottle as first thing in the morning and then eat? Or eat and then milk?
My other question is when should I introduce small pieces of food than purée? I tried like 4 time and he choked twice with whole full strawberry, mango and toast. I want to know from experience please.
Please help!

Is he choking where you need to give back blows, or gagging on the food and it makes it’s way out? Gagging is very normal for babies to do.
If you’re nervous, go onto chunky purées for now then when he’s more comfortable with that, you can just go bigger or try soft solid foods eg, mushed berries, soft sweet potato etc.
in terms of milk it’s whatever your baby wants. If he’s drinking his milk in the morning and then having his breakfast, leave it at that. If he’s not wanting his milk/ breakfast then swap one out

I use the solid starts app and it's super helpful for seeing how to serve different foods for different ages, highly recommend it if you havent seen it already! Gagging is completely normal as they learn how to chew and swallow solids. I read somewhere that a baby's gag reflex is super sensitive compared to an adults to protect them from choking. My little one has a mix of small pieces of food and purees but slowly starting to phase out the purees now. He is 7 months 🥰

Also in answer to your first question, sometimes my LO has a bottle in the morning and then solid food for lunch, and some days he has a solid breakfast (toast, banana, porridge etc.) and then a bottle at lunch. No set pattern for us!

They say until 1yrs old, milk is priority, so would give this first and gap before meals.
Solid starts app is great for showing how to introduce foods.
It’s worth watching videos about gagging and choking - it’s made me a lot more comfortable with her gagging since watching and as time has gone by, this has reduced.
I found some fruits she struggles to hold, so got a fruit dummy from Amazon and she loves it - helps with teething too 🥰

I do milk feed on waking then breakfast an hour or so later. Feed mid morning if needed then lunch then milk feed, dinner then feed and then feed before bed.
Have been doing finger food along side puree from the start so now having whole food and not gagging although did to start with but was fine

My baby just won’t drink milk first thing so he has breakfast first.
