Childcare 15 hours free

It's the term after they turn two, so unfortunately for April babies that's September 2024 x

My boy is 11th April and he gets his funding in september, your have to apply through the gov childcare closer to that time and get a code to give to your child nursery x

I was told that funding is changing in April and to keep an eye. X

pretty sure this is just changing as they are giving 15 hours childcare to all 2 year olds. Then September 2024 it's coming out that 9 month olds will be getting 15hours funding also to help and encourage woman back to work. X

Its always the term after they're 2 or 9 months. So sadly it's September 24 for all April and beyond 2 year olds. My 2nd is due this April but won't get 15hts 9 month funding until April 25, not when he's 9 months. Hope that makes sense!

As long as both parents are working a minimum of 16 hours per week you can apply for the funding that will start the term after they turn two. So all eligible April babies will get it in September.
Make sure you apply for the code before September though as the nursery have a cut off date they have to submit the code by to get the funding!

Thank you all so much for your responses, what a shame it's till September! I'm due my second baby any time now and I was hoping nursery could help my toddler but I may have to pay instead if it gets too much. Thanks 😊

I tried everything to get my son to arrive before 31st March. Didn’t work. 5 more months of paying for childcare then 😂

I'm in the same position having baby due march and I'm having to pull my son out of nursery until September 🙈
But if you can and choose to do a nursery most places do a two day minimum but if you go one the government childcare you can pay off of there and the government give you 20% tax free childcare! So you put money on the account and then the government do 20% of the amount you put in top up xx

Yes I already do the tax free childcare and have an account to go towards my 4 day a week nursery fees. You have to reconfirm your details every three months to keep getting your top up contributions.
I've just reconfirmed and I've actually been given my daughter's code already without having to do another application, it just automatically showed me I was eligible, I guess because I already have a childcare account/nursery place.
I still can't use it until September term still though, atleast it's one last faff already having the code I guess!
