2 year 4 month old Stuttering

Yes! My daughter did the exact same for a couple of months. Like you said it’s like the words are getting stuck.
Their brains are working so fast and they haven’t developed the muscles to keep up.
One thing that helped us (obviously every child is different) was just waiting until she got the word/sentence out, as long as it takes, without interrupting or filling in the blanks.
Another thing was when she was getting frustrated by the stutter was, after she finished trying to get her words out, getting her to take a couple deep breaths and finish with a tickle. Helped to reset.
It went away on its own and she’s 2yr 6mths.

Thank you!! I was hoping it want just me and being a worry wart, but I try not to interrupt and just repeat what she wanted to say so she can clearly here it, but boy is it hard when you know what they are asking lol

My sons just started doing this at three or he’ll jumble his sentence I can see the scramble bothers him a bit but he gets there. And I’m sure with patience and loving understanding it will pass.

Mine does this

My daughter gets seen by an occupational therapist every month and a speech therapist every year. Our OT said stuttering at that age is just because their minds are moving faster than their little mouths can speak. The best thing to do is practice patience as they are trying to get it all out!

I’ve asked this same question to professionals and have been told that it’s completely developmentally normal

My little brother stuttered pretty bad around that age, and he completely grew out of it within a year
