Ok what I'm going to say sounds awful but I want to know if I'm the only one. Do you think that your baby only belongs to your side of the family and not your husbands?
I don't have any problem with them and we get along, but when the baby is with them I am worried constantly, I get even a little jealous and I don't trust them being with the baby by themselves. However, when the baby is with my side of the family, everything is great, I don't think about and I am happy about my day if it makes sense. I have also never felt jealous when my parents spend time with him, but I do when my in-laws do. Is this normal?

That’s exactly how I feel!!! I’m glad I’m not alone. My justification is I know my family, I know they would take great care of my baby. I know my husband’s family but do I really know them? lol

I feel that way but mostly because most of his family are a bunch of boundary stomping assholes, for lack of a better description.

I’m the same way! I like his side, I have no problem with them but I feel more comfortable with my side of the family! I mean to be fair though I’ve known my family my whole life and his family for only a portion of it. I think what you’re feeling is normal (at least to me)

Omg same here! I think it’s because I barely know his side of the family.. but I’m glad he doesn’t have a problem with my side of the family

Ugh same. I don’t feel as strongly about it but def more anxious when they have her. Partially bc they don’t listen or get what I’m saying about our rules and or preferences.

Hahaha yess!!

piggie-backing off of this: my instincts have also told me the same things and when I unpack this it definitely has to do with the unhealed trauma in their family and how blatantly I can see it effecting my LO in time. Luckily they don’t live in the same town and most of them not the same state. Bottom line though is-Trust your instincts and never let anyone bully you into thinking you’re being “too protective.” Your feelings will tell you everything you need to know if you’re in touch with yourself ❤️

I'm the opposite, I'd rather me, my husband, his family, and family friends over my side of the family. I think its a comfortabilty thing for me with similar parenting styles or great respect for our choices.

I feel the same way but I hate his family and have had to call CPS and the police on them 😂 and they don't see anything wrong with their ways
