A fight every nappy change/clothes change?

Alongside the sleep regression, which is neverending for a lot of us as far as I can see, is anyone else's baby getting super ragey getting a nappy put on and getting dressed? He has a proper meltdown and keeps rolling over mid change which.. I obviously can't complete when his ghetto booty is up in the air.
Wonder weeks says in leap six a sign in the fussy phase is not liking getting changed but .. reading it and actually being a part of it is a whole different thing 😩

Ah yes, my girl slams her legs down and attempts to roll off the changing table. It really is a battle of strength and dexterity. Nappy changes are bad, but full outfit changes are a right challenge. I now have to vigorously shake a rattle with one hand (distraction technique) and change her with the other 😅

Yes. Right in the trenches with you. Started a couple weeks ago and I have to sing to him for all changes or we have a meltdown!

You guys are so good with using distractions. I dropped his toy car on his head earlier while straddling him in a proper wrestle position 😂 He's fine. It's a soft toy. But my god. I literally sit on him (not putting my weight down obviously) as a means to keep him at least facing up. But his head thrashing and arm flailing is impossible 😐 I left him to it yesterday after his bath half dried and in just his nappy cause I literally couldn't win that fight 😩😂

I distract and have him hold something. I go “whats this? what’s this? here hold this!” And it really works for me.

I’ll hand him something random- The top of a box, a pack of closed travel tissues, the thermometer, a toy he hasn’t seen for a while. Something that he only has the chance to look at when on the changing table.

It helps SO much -otherwise he’s flipping over, crawling away, and crying like someone’s being murdered. 😂.

This all makes me feel better. I'm going to continue to restrain my guy by sitting on his bottom half and pinning that part down. I'll try other (soft) things he can fidget with and speed up the process as much as I can so it's over quicker 🤦😂 I love him. But holy hell I dread a change as much as he does now 😂😂

Yup makes it so much harder it’s like a wrestle match everytime 😳 I usually have a spinner toy for distraction but his favourite is a empty packet of wipes as the crinkly noise keeps him happy 😅

If it makes you feel better I have twins and usually when one gets changed the other decides yeah let me cry my arse off now so I wrestle one while being screamed at by the other so no distraction, cute toys or anyshiz here but absolute speed and agility.

Avatar

Yes I have to start clapping my hand in front of her face saying yay (she loves that for some reason) otherwise she’s rolling away. She also screams whenever I put her arms into clothes 🤣 and it’s all 10x worse when she’s already tired at bedtime x

I put the Alexa on and sing to him. That’s a good distraction

Avatar

yep the arms in the armholes thing is like.. it sounds like he's being viciously attacked 😭 can only imagine what my neighbours think

Avatar

And I genuinely thought it’s just us struggling with dressing, nappy change… I can’t even distract him with anything, he just goes hysterical and I have to fight him haha x

Although I'm sorry everyone else is going through this, I'm also pleased it's not just me. I thought either my baby is defective or I'm doing something wrong. I'll just keep shaking me rattle then!

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
