MAM bottles

So my baby absolutely loves his mam bottles and it makes it a less messy feeding time for me too, as with other bottles he seems to be leaking out the corners of his mouth constantly. However, ever since using mam bottles my little guy has really struggled with wind. He is incredibly hard to burp after feeding with a mam bottle and has so many trapped burps and will scream for over an hour after every feed. This doesn't happen with tommee tippee but as I said, there's so much slobber that I'm not even sure baby is eating half of it. Why do mam bottles not have an anti colic valve in the teat that actually works? Also has anyone else had this issue and continued to use mam bottles? Did the struggles stop? I'm finding it really hard to settle him after eating and it's heartbreaking to see him crying his little heart out because he's in so much pain :(

Have you tried Lansinoh teats? They have a hole and they fit on mam bottles xx

We switched to size 0 teets and that helped

@Rosie this was happening with size 0 and with size 1 :(

@Claudia I had no idea that this works, I might give that a go. The teat shape is different though, right?

Dr browns anti colic options +

Oh hello neighbour… just checking are you doing lots of pauses and paced feeding? I found there’s a really niche angle you need to aim for on the teet with mams. Also the washer in the base not to get it “curled under” when you assemble!

@Elly yeah, tried paced feeding, and still no joy, he just screams and I can hear all the air as well. :/ maybe I'm doing something wrong with the mam bottles 😔

I’ve just thrown away 3. I put them on the warmer and all my breast milk had leaked from the bottom. What was that about?!

I have switched to lanisoh teats on the mam bottles and it’s made a huge difference in the amount of gas my baby has.

@Hannah what size teat did you get

Has anyone tried the nuby teats? Do they fit? They have 3 anti colic valves so I might give that a go too

We had an awful time with mam so I bit the bullet and changed to dr browns. It took my little girl a couple of bottles to get used to the different teat but it’s made feeding so much better and she’s so much happier now

@Claudia we got the slow flow tests which last until they are around three months old x
