14 month old not talking yet.

Hey my son just turned 15 months and he’s not talking either and we just saw the paediatrician. They said as long as they’re making noises and seem to understand some language then they’re not worried. For example do they turn when you call their name? (Usually, probably not all the time because they’re toddlers so)

You can always get an evaluation done for a speech therapist. Early intervention is best. We waited until our son was 2 to get him help because my bf was convinced he would “eventually talk” but never did. He’s 4.5 now and has been in speech therapy since he was 2.5

My girl is almost 14 months. She isn't talking yet either. But she babbles non sense all day. She knows what she is saying, but just no actual words. Her receptive language is good so I am not concerned.

I think at 1 year they should have at least 25 words in their vocabulary. I would definitely ask for an evaluation. It never hurts to ask and find out because finding ANY problem or issue early is always better than finding it later. Even if they say nothing is wrong, I'd find out. They should definitely be saying some words by a year old.
