Hey yall, I'm a ftm my baby girl is 6w+1 and honestly I've tried googling it but the answer isn't very clear. So sorry if I come off as an idiot. But for a baby girls vag, are you supposed to like part the folds and wipe inside? Thanks for any help.

tbh that’s what i do. i open it to part it so i can get in the little folds

I open it and wipe left to right and right to left. I make sure I use sensitive wipes with water. I make sure I don’t wipe up or down so I don’t get any bacteria or anything in her urethra or vagina.

You actually don't need to wipe every single pee. If there's poop, obviously wipe. Don't wipe between the folds too often, it can cause irritation or UTIs, but always make sure there's no poop left in the folds.

yeah, she’s right. I only wipe in the mornings or if she’s had a wet diaper for awhile.

Yes.

Poo yes.
Wee once or twice a day

Just dont wipe inside the hole, it's pretty good at protecting itself and shouldnt get poop inside there, but sometimes it gets between the lips at the bottom or top, so I will usually check and wipe very gently around the edges if need be. If it's a really big poo or she gets diaper rash, you can also just wash her in the sink with warm water. The wipes start to irritate them more after too much wiping.

Yep part the folds and wipe the sides just not inside the hole. Poop wipe every time. Pee wipe once a day I do mornings. And always back to front toward the butt. The opposite can create infections and UTI.

Thank you guys I really appreciate it! She's been in the hospital since she was born so this was the first week of me doing anything for her and I was worried!

If your bby still has left over white stuff (vernix) in her folds of her lips its fine its actually a protective thing but if you see poop then clean it. I asked my pediatrician this yesterday

This might be tmi but I have a 6 month old girl and we’ve experienced some extreme blowouts that have gone inside and I usually just rinse under the sink or tub faucet with soap lol no one told me that would happen🤦🏻♀️
