Formula only mamas, how often do y'alls LO eat?

I read somewhere that 4-month-olds are only supposed to eat 4-6 oz bottles every 4-5 hours, but my 4-month-old is falling out crying for a bottle every hour and a half, 2 hours max. She even wakes up out of her sleep, crying for a bottle during the night, she used to sleep at least 8 hours at night without waking, but now she can barely make it 3 hours before she's up searching for another bottle. She eats 4-5 oz at a time, and sometimes I even put a small amount of rice in it, is this something I need to talk to her pediatrician about, or is this just her growing and needing more food? Also, she turns 5 months next week if that's relevant in anyway.

My son has 6oz bottles every 3 hours, sometimes 30 minutes early if he's screaming and his last bottle is now 8oz before he goes to sleep for anywhere from 8-9 hours. His formula is enfimil AR, so it has the rice in it. He also has been eating half a jar of baby food every other day. He just turned 5 months and is a big boy

3-5 oz every 2-4 hours

My lo eats between 4-5 oz every 1-4 hours and he’s 5 months

Every baby is different and they know what their body needs ❤️ my LO gets 2-5 every 3-4 hours

My daughter is the same exactly way and she’s 4.5 months. We just got hungry growing babies🫶🏻

my 6 month old has been drinking 8 oz bottles since he was almost 2 months old

My girl eats 4 oz every 4 hours. Sometimes 5 oz, but the 4 hours still apply.

My lo eats 4-6oz every 2-4 hours, and will still wake in the night after sleeping 4-8 hours. She’s just about 5 months old

My son, eats 4-5 ounces every 3-4 hours, sometimes a longer sometimes a little earlier (in length of time) I usually just wait for him to tell me he's hungry versus going off a schedule. Is that bad? Is it better to stick to a feeding schedule? Any mama's with an answer would be helpful

I still feed on demand, my lo does loosely follow a nap schedule and she usually eats before she falls asleep and if she doesn’t finish the 4-6oz she does when she wakes up!

we let our son tell us when he’s hungry too. Anywhere from 4-5 oz every 4 hrs. At night though he can go about 6 hrs without waking up hungry (not every night but most)

I answered the original posters question by saying my baby eats 4 to 5 oz every 4 hours as a better concrete answer. I guess she goes 7 to 8 hours at night. But that was just me guessing based on when it seems like she eats based on every day. Truthfully I feed on demand. I wait until she is hungry and feed her a 4 oz bottle (because she consistently takes a 4 oz bottle.) If she wants another oz I get her another oz.

So no, sticking to a feeding schedule isn’t necessary. Whatever you are doing, if it’s working, keep doing it. 😊♥️

My son goes from 4oz every 2 hours to 6 every 3-5 just honestly depends. A lot of times I think he’s just bored.
He has just started to sleep 6hiur stretched.

Babies experience cluster feeding around growth spurts same for when they might be getting sick.

You also should be careful with over feeding it's easier than you might think (guilty of doing so myself) It could be that with new foods being introduced it could be hurting her tummy. Definitely stick to 1 type of baby food brand and single flavor for multiple days to make sure she isn't allergic or having digestion problems.

Definitely contact the pediatrician if you have more concerns like bowel movements being different or nothing changing/getting better

I hope she feels better soon 💖

Try more oz per feed. Were at 7-10 oz during the day of each formula feed - about 4-5 daily and none at night

AITA

In the uk there is an outbreak of meningitis, in a specific area mainly. My BD has family from that area and decided to go and meet up with them, I said if he does then he cannot have contact with the kids for 7-10 days after incase he picks anything up. Am I being over dramatic? I reallyyy don’t want my young kids getting anything serious

Baby clothes

Just out of curiosity, why do parents love zipper onesies?

Don’t get me wrong, I tried zipper ones it’s easy to zip in and out when putting it on the first time and taking it out, but I find it difficult when changing diapers especially when baby is asleep.

I prefer those kimono style buttons where it’s easy to button or too down button with crotch snaps.

Is everyone thinking the same or different? Lol

This might rattle some people

Ok, this might get a bit long, and a bit bumpy, so get comfy and buckle up.

So about a week or 2 ago, there was a post on here regarding sleepovers. Not letting their child go to them as you can't trust who'll be at the house etc.

Now, given recent incidents in nurseries and schools, plus my own experience back in the 90s, I am more concerned about sending my child to nursery and later school than I am to a friend's house for a sleep over.

The other day a man was jailed for abusing children at the nursery he worked at. A woman has been arrested for sleeping with an underage boy and then getting pregnant by a different underage boy while on bail for the first offence.

Young girls and boys get sexually harassed and bullied when at school, not all of them. But more than you think. And not just by other kids, but by adults who we as parents are trusting to look after our kids.

A sleepover, is a more controlled environment, with only a handful of people coming into contact with your child. A school, a club etc there can be 100s of people coming into contact with your child.

I was targeted at 7 years old by the owner of a prominent private school. Thankfully, I wasn't SA'd. In year 5 of primary school, I started to develop early, I was harassed by the boys and teachers made remarks about how my uniform didn't fit right, always "adjusting it" around my chest and legs.

Years 7-9 of secondary school were hell. But it was all under the guise of "we're just messing around". A teacher twanging my exposed bra strap (none uniform day) is not "messing around".

Boys pinning me down trying to rip open my shirt to see my breasts.

I fear for my daughter. I hope she takes after my father's family, flat chested.

We need to educate all our children, what is acceptable behaviour. And to come to us, as their parents should ANYTHING happen.

At this point I’m not enjoying motherhood

My 22 month old is horrendous at the moment🫣 biting, hitting, pushing, pulling and shoving not only adults but children he also wants what other children have and will just snatch it away from them.

We repeat ‘nice hands’ ‘be gentle’ ‘let’s share’ etc

But how do I make him understand what he’s doing isn’t very nice? At the end of the day I feel like I’ve just been saying his name all day and nothing else.

What can I do?

Dummy

My baby has had a dummy since about 2 weeks old (now 5 months) and over the course of the last month we weaned her off it during the day only for naps and night (which was fine) and then 5 days took it completely away during the day.

The first day no dummy was fine, the second bit rougher. But now it feels impossible she just moans and cries all the time it takes ages for her to go down to sleep (she’s always been an amazing sleeper)

I thought it was meant to get better as time went on not worse. I’m at my wits end I dunno what to do.

Currently typing this as she screams uncontrollably in the car and I cry with her cos I can’t do anything.
