I’m married to a compulsive liar. He is the love of my life and he’s the best person I know. Yet he lies about the most stupidest things. He lies to his mom his friends and now me as well. I’ve caught him many times and since most of them are harmless nothing comes of it. For instance he lied to me that his friends are dying to meet him but instead he messaged them to meet, he lied to me how his mom was happy about something but instead she wasn’t, he lied to me that things were going well at work when in reality his lies got caught up at work and he got fired. He doesn’t see the harm in it. I however don’t trust him anymore. I’ve become paranoid that he will lie about the big stuff and will cheat. It’s to the point that I know the moment I’ll go into his phone the convos he’s telling me would turn out different. He’s jobless and has no career. I fear for my son’s future. I don’t know if it’s PPD but if this continues I cant stay in this marriage. My son is 3 months old and he is the best father to him. And I feel the worst.

I want to point out that you've said that the best person you know is a known compulsive liar. I can understand your uneasiness is the relationship because I assume you two had an agreement that he would be working and help provide, and now his behavior that you're aware of is causing actual issues to that agreement. Also, the big part is you know he's lying and gor the most part find out what exactly it is. That's hard for you as it'd be for anyone because how can you trust this partner in your marriage, that what he cause to happen due to gus lying isn't going to pull you down too in some way. He can be the greatest father at 3 months but yes in yhe future his lying can cause hurt to the son you two have. And also just because he's a great father doesn't mean he's a husband that you should stay with. This situation really sucks and I hope he eventually gives you an apology that you deserve.
