Bottle feeding routines

Hi! My LO is almost 10 weeks and on reflux milk, we do 5 feeds a day and really trying for a longer stretch at night, currently she feeds 6am/10.30am/3pm/7.30pm and then goes to sleep around 8.30pm I then wake her up for a feed at 11.45pm which she sleeps through then will sleep until around 3.30/4am but then just grunts and makes noises until 5/5.30am where I usually get her up and cuddle, any tips to get a deeper sleep for her?

Is there a reason you’re still waking her?
I do about 12 feeds a day (expressed milk and snacky baby) so I can’t imagine doing so little feeds but very different circumstances.

The guidelines say 5 bottles of 180mls a day so I wake her to make sure she’s eating enough I’m a FTM and get anxious if I do anything wrong!

Personally i dont wake my LB for feeds at all anymore.

He feeds closer together through the day - typically in and around 7am,9am,12pm,3pm,5pm,8pm,11pm

Sometimes he doesnt wake for the last feed and if he doesnt i just leave him be! Last night he had his last bottle around 8pm and that was him till 7.30 this morning
He does stir and grunt etc throughout the night but i just leave him be and he usually self settles and if he wants fed he waked up and cries xx

I'm on 6 bottles a day but I class a day as 24hrs. I use the huckleberry app to track what he's had. He doesn't always take a full bottle. He's 8 weeks and no routine at all. I just let him tell me when he's hungry. He normally feeds 9pm and then up at 2am and again around 6 where I normally just stay up. I'd never wake a sleeping baby but thats just me 😊 as long as happy and gaining weight I wouldn't worry to much about what's on the box, it's only guidelines 😊

He will be 10 weeks on monday and he takes 4-5oz - been following this similar pattern now for close to 4 weeks

I will add that is a loose pattern and doesnt always follow it and he does have the odd night here and there where he is up at 2/3 for a feed i just follow his lead x

If you don’t wake baby they will probably adjust and still get the same amount in.
I wouldn’t wake baby and if they have reflux I’d try Fred more little and often in the day xxx

Thank you! I gave an extra oz at their evening feed and did not wake for the late night feed and she slept 8 hours!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
