If you don’t feel ready then don’t.
Loved ones should respect your wishes at this delicate time ❤️

There's not really any reason for her to have him alone so young. This time is still important for parental bonding and if you don't want him out of your sight then keep him!

Im quite shy and reserved and my MIL is very loud and outgoing so I find it hard to get a word in. She keeps going on about how her friend gets to take her granddaughter out all the time but it’s different as her friends granddaughter is 5 months old and is bottle fed which I don’t think she understands!
I do feel bad as I trust my mother mother more than her but that’s only because my mother is a midwife and she knows what to do incase of an emergency and I still haven’t let me mother take him alone yet 🥲 it’s making me feel like Ive got PPA the way she talks to me about not letting her have him

Stick to your guns, every family is different! You don't have to argue, just be firm with her

My son is 4 years and my mil has never had him.
My son can now tell me he doesn’t what to be around her but before that I knew he wasn’t comfortable with her and I will never leave him with anyone I know he isn’t comfortable with

I think mine wants to take my baby too. He's 12 weeks and my other half suggested his mother to take him for a few hours to spend time with him. I said why.. He's usually asleep ha. And it's not because I need to go somewhere or we are going somewhere together?!

I'm with you on preferring your own mum, I don't mind her taking him, she's only ever done that for half an hour when I've popped over and it would be easier for me to go to the shop without the baby. Id never or want to pop to the MIL's without my other half..and hope I dont need to anytime soon while he is so small...

I also don't want to let him go really! That's what I'm here for to look after him. You are in control. What does your partner think?

Thanks everyone.
My partner seems to agree with me and doesn’t want me to feel uncomfortable but doesn’t seem to tell his mother this, it’s never really come up in conversation between them two but it is making me feel on edge the fact she doesn’t seem to listen to me… yesterday she asked to take him and I told her I didn’t want her to take him out and today she text again asking to take him! As if things would have changed overnight. It’s very tiring to keep explaining my self. She is a lovely woman and very helpful for me and my family but I don’t feel like she understands as she is very sociable and I’m more of a home bird

My daughter is 20 months old and absolutely not. Lol

8 week old and the amount of times friends and MIL have said 'if you want to go out I'll have him' I'm not ready at all. I appreciate the offers but I'm just not ready to leave him. We also don't live locally to either sets of parents which makes it harder for them to bond with him which is why I'm a bit more nervous about leaving him with them. I know I will need too at some point but just not yet.

My guys 18m and hasn't been alone with my MIL. For a variety of reasons. You do only what you are comfortable with.

I didn’t even want ppl holding my baby for months. I lived with my MIL and she’s watched her for a few hours and what not. Never over night and never driven her anywhere. She’s 14 months old now and we have moved

Avatar

Most people I've talked to don't let anyone take their kiddos anywhere until about 4 months without a parent. My baby is also 10 weeks old and I couldn't imagine leaving them with anyone except my spouseor I at this age. It's up to you personally and if your gut is saying not to then you shouldn't

Avatar

I won’t ever let my baby girl be alone with anyone and that’s just because of the few times I did they overstepped their boundaries (force feeding, overheating when she has eczema). You’re the parent do as you wish.

If you don’t feel ready then don’t do it. Remember nobody is entitled to your child just because they have a title with your child. It is YOUR child. You set the boundaries❤️

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Car seat crying

My 6 month old PANICS the second I put him in a car seat and screams, cries, chokes and recently even projectile vomited on a 14 minute drive. It’s gotten to the point I don’t even bring him out unless it’s to a doctors appointment. I’m a stay at home mom with no family in my state and it has been very isolating. We’ve tried 3 different car seats with no improvement. Has anyone had a baby who hated the car seat? Any advice? This started at 3 months. I will add it does seem worse when he’s tired. He does cry on every trip though. He only contact naps and co sleeps so he reaches for me and will not sleep in the car seat.
