20 week appointment

You don’t normally see the midwife after your scan. Your midwife will give you the form at your next appointment but if you need it sooner you could try ringing her

20 week scan is the same as 12 weeks, you won’t see your midwife after.
I got my MatB1 from at my actual midwife appointment.
If your unsure then right the scan department or your midwife as areas might do things differently.
You don’t normally get the form before 21 weeks

I was offered the matb1 form at my very first midwife appointment and then again at my 20w scan at the hospital. If you need it, be sure to ask them when you go for your scan. I didn’t see midwife after my 20w scan and the scan itself was around half hour, slight discomfort around tummy from pressure but otherwise fine x

I asked my community midwife for my matb1 when I was 20 weeks exactly and she filled it out and had it posted to me the same day as it was a few days later I received it 😊 also the only midwife I saw on my 20 week scan was the one doing the scan, who isn't my community midwife x

i saw my midwife after the 12 week scan so im confused on why i wont see them after this scan?

i do not have her number im unsure who to contact

does the sonograper fill out my green booklet with the results of the scan then if i do not see the midwife? x

also at my 12 week scan it was the midwife who gave me my scan pictures afterwards after i paid , if i don’t see my midwife after will i not get any pictures ?:(

You won’t get your MATB until 25 weeks off your own midwife x

You only see the doctor or midwife if there is a problem. Otherwise, you get the scan (1 hours or so long) and it's sent to them for review. Then they tell you to come back if anything is needed. I had to go back bc my baby is stubborn and wouldn't allow photos. When you go for the OB or whatever for the next appt, they go over everything and fill out your booklet.

I saw a midwife after my 20 week scan, did a urine check & offered me the whooping cough vaccine. I got my MATB1 at my 25 week appointment. The scan is much longer than the 12 week as they are checking everything. I didn’t realise until I was there it’s still better to have a full bladder, just if baby’s in the wrong position for them to do all the checks, you doing to the toilet can make the baby move

did they go over your results and fill out your booklet?

I don’t have the booklet unfortunately I have badger notes, but for mine she told me what she was measuring and how it looked, so said she could see the heart & all four chambers that were as should be

I’m not too sure. By the sounds of it each area is different. I’m in Suffolk/Essex and where I went to see my midwife she gave me the form on my very first appt, and then I got one from the hospital at 20w. I used the 20w one because I would’ve gotten my proper EDD by then which my work needed. All of my documents are done via online and I haven’t physically been given anything. So when I log into my online portal I was able to see the report from both my 12 & 20 week scan which gave me the measurements etc that they took. I have all my upcoming midwife check in appts on there as well which are every 3 weeks. I think each place is different as I say but I could’ve sworn you got the MATB1 at your 20w scan, so be sure to ask the sonographer during your session x

They actually recommended that I schedule my 20 week scan on the same day as my prenatal appointment, which is what I did. So I will be seeing the midwife after the scan.

i had it scheduled for me i did not have a a choice in when i got it but at my 16week appointment my 25week appointment was made for april

I think most of us don’t see our midwives after our scans because they are done at different places. I see my midwife at the doctors surgery or the birthing centre and my scans have been at the hospital. It just sounds like you area is set up differently

20 weeks scan is the same as 12 weeks longer appointment as they look at the baby in detail. Won't see the midwife at the scan. I got my matb1 at my 25 week appointment. My 20w results were uploaded to my badger notes.

same I see my midwife at the GP surgery but I have scans at the hospital. I only ever see my midwife at the gp surgery. I'm in Darlington (north east England)

I've never seen green paper notes, I've only ever known the badger app for my maternity notes.

@T maybe that's just what they do where you are ? I've never seen the green paper before. I usually see the midwife at my local health centre and the scans up at the hospital. The one time I had a midwifes appointment at the hospital was when I had my glucose test and had to wait about 2 hrs so they did an appointment in that time.

Is that the pregnancy passport?

no it’s my maternity notes
