Friendship dilema

I am expecting my 'rainbow baby' and as a result have been a really nervous nelly in this pregnancy. We waited until really far in to tell people and are genuinely shocked (but incredibly grateful) to get this far. I have a friend who is very domineering, she knows about the previous loss. She tried to force my hand into telling people before I was ready and when I said I'd be waiting she accused me of not being excited about my baby. She has been very pushy all along about me specifically becoming pregnancy pals with another pregnant friend of hers who I don't really know. I expressed that I was reluctant to but emphasized that I meant no offence to this other girl who I've met a couple of times. My friend has become a bit nasty about it all. She's started making snippy remarks in group chats and sending me texts which patronise and scold me for not doing what she wants. She's also made it clear she's been gossiping about me. I think I'd like to cut the friendship off. Can I ghost her or do I need to offer an explanation??

Just to add that I know ghosting sounds really cowardly but she's likely to get really nasty and I really don't want to be getting horrible texts when I'm supposed to be staying nice and serene for the baby!

I've had to tell a friend that I needed to take a step back in our friendship due to toxic behaviour. Told her why I was making this choice and that I'd cherish the memories we had together but didn't want her in any future memories. I needed her to understand I was done and to not try contacting me so I could move on with my life, I blocked her and all her family on social media to solidify that fact.

Totally ghost her - you don’t need negative energy, positive vibes only xx

If you ghost she will never understand what she did wrong. Think it’s important learning point for her so she doesn’t go doing this to others in the future xxx

I think people like her don’t care what you think and will never self-reflect on their behaviours. They thrive on being in control and no matter what you say she’ll turn it on you and tell others what you have said.

Silence and not responding to her takes the control away from her. It gives you control back too. Personally I wouldn’t engage with her going forward, if you see her in the street be polite but don’t engage any further. X

You could send a clear message saying why you need some space from the friendship and then block her for a while (or forget if you choose) so you don't have to deal with any response. You could even explain you're going to block her and why. Good luck, be strong <3

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
