My baby is just about to turn 2 weeks old, & is now taking 4oz formula per feed and crying to feed again in under 3 hours. We are following his feeding cues, feeding when he wants fed and stopping when he is ready to stop.
We are so worried we might be over feeding him, as this is a lot more than the guidance on the box.
Could someone please reassure me that what he is eating is OK? Or let me know if it is too much.

My little boy was the same and my little girl who’s just over two weeks has between 3 and 4 oz every 2/ 2 and a half hours. It did my little boy no harm so it doesn’t worry me with my daughter 🙂 xx I hope that helps haha 🫣

My little on is just over 3 weeks now and at 2 weeks he was between 3/4oz mainly 4. Spoke to my midwife about it as someone made a comment and I thought I was over feeding him. She said it's absolutely fine feed as much and when he wants it. He's getting alot chunkier 😊 your not over feeding him don't worry xx

@Rosie that's so helpful, thank you! I'm still at that anxious stage where I just worry about anything and everything xx

amazing thank you! Xx

totally normal! You’ve got this mama! Xx

@Rosie thank you! The reassurance is exactly what I need xx

My baby is 2 weeks tomorrow and is taking 4 oz or more per feed - I’m expressing though and was told you can’t overfeed with breastmilk but yes, she’s definitely having the same amount your baby is.
i guess our babies just have a bigger appetite.

My little one is 6 weeks old and on 5oz and has been since around 3-4 weeks old. He feeds every 3 hours almost on the dot and the health visitor said he’s just a hungrier baby. He’s very chunky and on the 91st percentile for his weight (12lb10oz). Just go with what baby wants. They will refuse the bottle and show signs they don’t want it if they are full or throwing up most of the milk after. You know your baby best ❤️
