Hospital appointments

I am currently 19 weeks and I’ve just been visiting my GP for all appointments as I’m going through the public system. I did have a telehealth appointment with a midwife at 13 weeks. But I don’t have my next appointment until 21 weeks and that is in person with a doctor at the hospital. Is this normal? What appointments did you have with the hospital?

My 13 week appointment was just basically a mental health check up, the generic questionnaire, and they gave me a referral for my GTT. I feel like I didn’t have any chance to ask questions.

I assume this is normal but I just wanted to check what appointments do we get with the hospital as a public patient? It seems they advise I get all the time is speak with your obstetrician, but I don’t have an obstetrician.

Thanks!

You’re in a darn good spot then! They only refer you to OB on the public side if there is something wrong, I got referred early to an OB coz I have pregnancy related problems (GD and bad hypertension from pregnancy) I see my GP every two weeks and the hospital every 3 or 4 weeks, if I didn’t have any problems I would only see monthly from 20 ish weeks onwards (I have the Gp/hospital shared care through Mater)
Basically if you don’t have any problems the hospital doesn’t really need to see you before 20weeks :)

I went public and remember feeling adrift for a while there thinking I needed more appointments. If you're concerned about something make an appointment yourself. I had a extra scan when I was needing reassurance. I found the public system very hands off if you were a low risk pregnancy

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

Growth scan

So had my 28 week midwife appointment- all good but after measuring bump- I’m now waiting on a scan within a few days as bump is measuring small I’m not worried as I am guessing a tape measure is hardly accurate but
For anyone who has been in a similar position- what was the outcome after the scan? Was the baby on the smaller side ?
Was baby measuring normal?

Thanks
