No experience in this yet, but unprotected sex and nipple stimulation seem to be the most scientifically backed ways to induce that I’ve read about and seen videos from OBs about. Apparently, the hormones in the sperm can trigger your cervix to ripen. Also, when you have an orgasm or stimulate your nipples, it causes your brain to release oxytocin and help trigger contractions.

Other things I’ve heard about are: curb walking, squats, lunges, eating dates or pineapple, drinking raspberry leaf tea or okra water. There’s no real valid research studies on them (except for maybe dates), but a lot of women swear by them so it couldn’t hurt to try!

hi, it’s the prostaglandins in semen that cause the cervical ripening. It’s what cervidil and cytotec mimic when inserted for inductions.

I’ve started to induce labor. I was waiting to reach 36 weeks hoping to start inducing naturally now so I can be going into labor by 37 weeks.

I plan on having sex along with nipple stimulation with manual expression. I read and heard a lot of moms rage about raspberry tea. I also heard about the dates too!

when should we start these methods? My baby is so small so I won’t to give her more time but still I want to get my body ready
I’m 36+6

I bounced on yoga ball everyday and drank red raspberry tea

From what my MFM and OB said, baby is considered term at 37 weeks. But since I’m not a doctor, I can’t advise you what’s best for you and your baby. My recommendation would be to call your OB and ask if it’s safe for you to start trying these things.

In my case, I’m high risk and being induced at 38 weeks. Both my doctors said that as long as I make it to 37 weeks then me and baby will be fine if she comes before my induction date.

the thing is my doctor was saying that the raspberry tea and walking doesn’t really help so much ! So I was surprised by that and didn’t ask him when to start

Yeah, there’s really not any scientific backing of those things, which is why I mentioned it. The only ones that have been scientifically backed are unprotected sex and nipple stimulation. The eating/drinking of certain foods, walking, ball bouncing, etc. are all more attributed to correlation and not causation.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

My daughter‘s name is valentýna and I’m struggling to find other nice girl and boy names beginning with V I’ve got a few and I’ve got loads that aren’t beginning with V, but I feel like I wanna go for all vs and I also love girl and boys names that match so because my daughter’s name is valentýna I would love to call my son Valentino my husband does not agree 😃

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!
