Summerlin Hospital or Mtn View Hospital?

It’s that time where we need to start thinking about where to register for labor & delivery!

We are new to the area & don’t have any friends who have given birth in Las Vegas. We love our OB office and they deliver at both Summerlin and Mountain View hospital.

Would love to hear about some of your experiences and opinions at either!

Thanks Mamas 🤍

Summerlin most definitely, I just had my twins there and they treated me so good

i don’t like either ! 😭 i’m going somewhere where my provider does not deliver at but i’ve been there my past two labors & wouldn’t go anywhere else . i swear my centennial hills

Avatar

Sorry i was thinking of centennial! Centennial is where i wanted to deliver, but Wahsn stopped delivering there. I delivered my second at mt view and my new baby at summerlin. I like mt view more. My room post partum at summerlin was small and kinda outdated. But they were nice though.

I had my son at mountain view in January it was a great stay. The nurses were so nice & made me feel great. All of them i loved it.

Please read this!!! Mountain View in September of 2019 had a nurse in L&D there who said I was suicidal without evidence of such. She used my Combat PTSD as a reason to put me on a medical hold. No doctor EVER spoke to me. My 12 hour old son was ripped from my arms and they sedated me as of course I was hysterical as my son was being taken away from me with no one present to help. This nurse then called CPS on my husband and I because she felt our home was “unsafe”…. Despite her never having been to my home. I did not see my son again for over 72 hours, I was not able to skin to skin, breastfeed, or again … even see him. The mental health doctor was the only one who would be able to clear me and HE WAS OUT FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND!!! No one came to check on me. I was left in a hospital room with cords all around but was told I could not have my electric breast-pump because it had cords I might try to hurt myself with…I was forced to manually pump with ZERO privacy …(read on next post…)

Zero privacy of the security cameras monitored by an unknown person. It was humiliating on top of inhumane treatment as I became engorged by my mass production that a manual pump just did nothing for.

Story goes on… when the doctor finally saw me he had no idea why I was ever put on a hold and HE TOLD ME to sue. He said I should have had my baby in room with me and been able to breast feed. That skin to skin should have been encouraged and not withheld.

When CPS came to our house SHE ASKED US to sign up for fostering.

If you go to that hospital NEVER TRUST THEM! I never sued and I live with chronic PTSD from this event on top of PTSD from combat now.

I highly recommend NOT using them as I never got around to holding them liable in the court of law due to COVID shut down.

Avatar

I am so sorry they happened to you, I couldn’t imagine the pain you was going through that’s so traumatic. I really wish you would’ve sued them!! That’s just insane and ridiculous

I was at summerlin and if I knew then what I know now I would have chose somewhere else. It was not a great experience.

I gave birth to my twins at Mountain View Hospital! The care was amazing, especially in the labor & delivery room! So much support! They also gave a celebratory dinner too me & my boyfriend afterwards! They took great care of me, and the babies! The nurses & my doctor were all amazing! The only downside that I can think of was that they did not allow videos to be taken, which was upsetting since I wanted to videotape the birth of my twins, but other than that I would say Mountain View Hospital!

Yeah Mountain View is amazing wonderful staff, nicu staff are amazing, everyone here made me feel at ease and relaxed, I just had my baby this morning.

Leaking waters?

I’m 35 weeks today wooo but… every morning for the past two weeks I’ve woken up with a palm sized water mark in my pants! - no smell, no pain and unaware of it happening…

I thought it might be leaking waters so got it checked out but the midwife said it was might be urine/watery discharge! - but it’s still happening.. thoughts? 💭🫶🏻

Pelvic girdle pain and birth

I have been experiencing awful pain. More so recently. I'm now using crutches to get around but it's more painful at night and when I lay down or sit down. I'm worried about birthing. I've got other issues and baby boy is estimating 8pounds at 36 weeks. I've been booked in for an induction 9 days prior to my due date. Surely he's going to be even bigger and I just don't feel like I've had any birth discussions in detail really. Ive only seen midwife twice and each time I've seen a consultant it's someone different. Has anyone else experienced awful pelvic pain and birthed a big baby?

Upcoming C-section.

So I’ve decided to go for an elective C-section, I know it’s the right choice after months of deliberating but I’m soooooo nervous.

I’ve had 2 very complicated births. I kinda know what to expect from the recovery as I had an emergency section with my first but I just feel nervous about being awake during it & what it feels like.. I’ve heard they strap your arms down and I’m scared of something going wrong.

I know every experience is different but if you’re happy to share what your elective was like for you (good and bad) id be very grateful. I feel really unprepared!

C-section numbness

6 months postpartum my OB has dismissed my concerns about the right above my C-section area being numb. It is so uncomfortable to lay on my stomach now, and certain moves or touches feels like the worst nerve pain in life. Majority of my friends had a vaginal birth so relating to anyone isn't real, and it appears to have mixed feedback on Google 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
