Sleep and routine

I’m finding it really hard seeing everyone’s babies sleeping through the night with clockwork routines it feels like I’m doing something wrong. We have a night time routine and follow wake windows but we’re still having multiple night wakes and feeding to sleep etc. anyone else in the same boat?

In the same boat, you’re not alone!

Please don’t compare yourself to others, it’s one of the worse things you can do as you’ll always find ways to tear yourself down!

Besides just because a baby is sleeping through the night doesn’t mean it will always stay that way, trust me I know 😴

You’re doing great and things will click, you’re on your own path but you will get there!

We are the same, my little girl was really good until about 6 weeks ago. Thought it was the sleep regression but she’s not making any changes.
She’s goes down at 7:30 usually wakes again 10:30, 2:00, 5:00 and up for the day at 7ish. On the odd occasion she’ll go down at 7;30 and not wake till 2:00 but that’s only a few times. I just follow her lead of what she wants and when xx

Honestly what you’re describing is so normal. Every baby is completely different but it’s normal To not sleep through the night. I think society has put so much pressure on routines and wake windows and blah blah. I find it much easier to roll with it and go with the flow, completely takes the pressure off, follow your babies lead, they know what they want and need 😊

We’re the same as you so don’t worry! She went through a phase of only waking up once but now back to multiple wakes overnight. And she still fights naps alllll day 😂. Don’t compare to others… often you only see their highlights 👀

I feel you. My little one is 4 months old. We also have no routine at all. Everyone else seems to 😂 I EBF on demand, so we are still all over the place. He could go 45 mins or 4 hours between feeds there is no in between. He doesn’t sleep properly through the day unless it’s a contact nap, the longest he sleeps alone through the day is 10 minutes, he doesn’t sleep at night either he wakes up multiple times still, we improved for a week where he was getting up once in the night but now it’s 3/4 times. I find it difficult to express aswell, as can only sometimes express a couple oz or nothing at all. It’s quite horrendous tbh 😩 we have CMPA so have just been prescribed an allergy formula to try… so I can wean from breast feeding and hopefully identify more of a routine… which he is point blank refusing and prefers to starve himself than have the formula. So we’re having. A fabulous time over here 😩I hope this makes you feel better 😂 x

In the same boat! Struggling with establishing a napping routine too 😭😭

Still have no routine and lots of night wake-ups over here too! You're definitely not alone.

If it helps, my baby was sleeping through for a week, as in 9pm until 6am. No idea how or why
Last night she went to sleep early, woke herself up twice crying, didn't get her down til midnight, woke at 4. Woke again at 5.50 chatting to herself

Now constantly feeding her and I think we are on nap 3 of the day and its not even midday 🫠

I am in the same boat. Plus I am pregnant again and nauseous. This is exhausting. I don’t know what to do. She wakes up every 1.5-2 hours. I don’t remember last time when I had 3 hours sleep. It is 2 hours maximum

Oh guys you have all made me feel so much better but I also feel for you all! Trying to tell myself it’s all a phase and this part will all be a distant memory one day. You’re all amazing xxx

I think some babies are just good sleepers and some are bad sleepers. I even bought an expensive sleep training course but it didn’t make much difference yet. But as you said it will all pass and we will have our sleep back one day 😫

We just have to think it doesn’t last forever and although now it’s frustrating and tiring and can be emotionally draining. When they’re grown up we will miss the extra cuddles and them being clingy. We are all doing a fabulous job ♥️

Mine goes down 11pm up at 3am then 6am then every hour or so until 9am….. I think they are still young and figuring it out

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
