Me and my partner have been together for around 9 years. My eldest had just turned 2 and since she has been born our relationship has taken a tumble he hadn’t become a grown up or a real father he expects me to do everything single handedly while he works and provides that is his only role he thinks he needs. Needless to say I fell pregnant again and things turned even worse. I had emergency C Section and he never once looked after me or my healing I had to bring myself up from the ground. He has a gambling addiction and has spent around £50,000 in savings we are now struggling financially. He blames me for this. He is mentally draining and mentally abusing I cannot take anymore. I don’t know the point of this post I guess I just cannot take it anymore.
I am leaving him as I do everything all myself anyway and I’ve never felt so sad and lonely in my life. I have no family(mum and dad are no longer here)
I have no one. My emotions are getting the better of me today as this is the day I’m leaving for good.
Is there anyone here who is a single mum who didn’t expect it would come to this?
How do you cope?
How to you cope with the grieving feeling almost?
The loneliness and the struggle
It hurts, my heart hurts all I want to do is cry I wish it didn’t come to this.

I saw this and didn’t want to pass by without saying anything. I’m sorry you’ve been through this. leaving is the best thing you can do for you and your children. You will cope. Maybe reach out to women’s aid if he is mentally abusive. I’m sure lots of people have been in similar situations. Us women always find a way. X

You’re doing the right thing. I’m sure once you’re set up by yourself you might be alone but you will feel less lonely than being in a situation where your needs are ignored.
It might be hard at first but you might also find that it’s easier because while you were doing everything yourself already you were probably also still spending a lot of time doing things for him or cleaning up his messes or simply being stressed by him - all those things will stop and it’ll give you some extra time and mental peace 🙏🏻
Exactly this! Thank you so much. I just feel so bad and the only reason I’ve stayed this long is because of the babies and the fact I’m not working or earning and the struggle I will put my babies though 😓

There’s nothing more lonely than being with someone that doesn’t treat you well. Sounds like you’ll be better off on your own, and you’ll probably feel relieved. Wishing you and you little ones all the best x
Thank you girls 🩷
